NATO Speak About China Global Security Threats

Date - 16th Jun 2021

NATO leaders have declared China a permanent security threat, saying the Chinese are working to undermine the world order. According to NATO leaders, China's goals and assertive behavior challenge the rules-based international order in all areas related to the alliance's security.

The warning came as the US president began his efforts to bring allies together to speak with one voice about China's human rights record, trade practices, and Chinese military aggressive behavior that worries US allies in the Pacific. NATO leaders asked China to abide by its international obligations and act responsibly in the international system.

Chinese reaction

The Chinese Embassy in the UK said the G-7 communique "deliberately slandered China and arbitrarily interfered in China's internal affairs." It also revealed the intentions of countries like the United States.
