Institutes include in Project O2 India

The Office of the Government's Chief Scientific Adviser initiated the Project O2 for India to secure the supply of critical raw materials such as zeolites, compressor manufacturing and small oxygen plant installations.
This project was initiated after the second wave of COVID-19, which witnessed an increase in the demand for medical oxygen across the country. Thus, it is important to meet current needs as well as to produce medical oxygen to ensure an adequate supply of oxygen for future needs.
About Project O2 India
This project was launched by the Office of the Chief Scientific Adviser to empower stakeholders working to empower India to meet the surge in medical oxygen demand. The project will establish a National Oxygen Consortium to ensure adequate national supplies of critical raw materials such as zeolites. It will also build small oxygen plants, compressors and end products such as oxygen plants, concentrators and fans. The consortium will strive to provide immediate short-term assistance as well as work to strengthen the production ecosystem in the long term.
Expert committee
An expert committee was established to evaluate critical equipment such as concentrators, oxygen plants and ventilators from Indian startups, manufacturers and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). It includes -
