About Atlantic Charter

The charter sets out common goals such as free trade, disarmament and the right of all people to self-determination. It is often referred to as the cornerstone of a special transatlantic relationship. This charter led to the dismantling of the British Empire and the formation of NATO and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT).
