BIHAR BOARD EXAM CLASS 12TH LATEST UPDATE
Finally, wait is over and Bihar School Examination Board [BSEB] has announced class 12 Board exams date. This year class 12th board exam will be started from 01 February 2025 and will last upto 15 February 2025, it will take around 15 days to complete the class 12th board exam. The board will conduct the class 12 exam in two shifts. The first-shift exams are conducted from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm while the second shift exam will be from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. The board is going to start the practical exams on January 10, 2025. The last practical exam will be on January 20, 2025.
Preparing for the Bihar Board Class 12 Chemistry exam requires a structured approach, as Chemistry involves both theoretical concepts and practical applications. Here's a guide to help you prepare effectively and maximize your chances of performing well:
1. Understand the Syllabus & Exam Pattern
i. Syllabus: Go through the official syllabus to know the chapters included in your exam. The major topics in Chemistry typically include:
Physical Chemistry (Atomic Structure, Chemical Kinetics, Solutions, Thermodynamics)
Inorganic Chemistry (Periodic Table, p-Block Elements, d-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds)
Organic Chemistry (Hydrocarbons, Alcohols, Ethers, Carbonyl Compounds, Biomolecules)
Environmental Chemistry (Environmental issues, pollutants)
ii. Exam Pattern: Understand the question paper format:
Types of questions (objective, short answer, long answer)
Distribution of marks for each section (theory, numericals, practicals)
2. Create a Study Plan
i. Time Management: Divide your time between theory and numerical practice. Allocate more time to difficult chapters but revise easy ones regularly to retain them.
ii. Set Daily Goals: For example, solve 10 numerical problems, read 2-3 pages of theoretical concepts, etc.
iii. Study in Short Bursts: Instead of long study sessions, break your study time into manageable chunks (e.g., 2-3 hours with short breaks in between).
3. Use NCERT Textbook
i. NCERT is the Bible for Chemistry: Read each chapter carefully and make sure you understand the theory.
ii. Go through all the in-text questions and exercises at the end of each chapter to test your understanding.
iii. Pay attention to diagrams (like chemical structures, reaction mechanisms) as they are important for exam answers.
4. Understand Key Concepts
i. Inorganic Chemistry: Focus on understanding concepts related to the periodic table, chemical bonding, and coordination compounds. Memorize the important formulas and trends (like electronegativity, ionization energy, etc.).
ii. Physical Chemistry: Focus on concepts like thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, solutions, and mole concept. Practice problems to reinforce these concepts.
iii. Organic Chemistry: This section often requires both understanding and memorization. Study reaction mechanisms, important reactions, and functional groups carefully. Keep practicing the reactions and their mechanisms.
5. Practice Numericals Regularly
i. Physical Chemistry involves a lot of calculations (e.g., solutions, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics). Practice as many numericals as possible from each chapter.
ii. Pay attention to the units and conversions. Understand the steps involved in solving a problem, rather than just memorizing formulas.
iii. Solve problems from the NCERT book and other reference materials to ensure you're covering all topics.
6. Revise Regularly
i. Revision is Key: Chemistry is a subject that requires constant revision. Revise key concepts, important reactions, and formulas every week.
ii. Maintain a formula book where you write down all important formulas, reactions, and concepts for quick revision.
iii. Review previous year question papers and solve them under exam conditions to understand the question pattern.
7. Focus on Important Topics
i. Certain topics in Chemistry carry more weightage in the exam. Focus more on these topics, but don’t ignore the others completely.
ii. Some important topics to focus on:
Inorganic Chemistry: Chemical bonding, p-block elements, coordination compounds.
Organic Chemistry: Hydrocarbons, alcohols, phenols, carbonyl compounds, biomolecules.
Physical Chemistry: Solutions, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, surface chemistry.
Environmental Chemistry: Pollution, waste management, environmental issues.
8. Clear Your Doubts
i. If you don’t understand something, don’t leave it. Ask your teacher or friends for clarification. Understanding the basics is essential before moving on to more complex topics.
ii. Use online resources, videos, or forums to get a clearer understanding if needed.
9. Work on Writing Skills
i. Presentation matters: In Chemistry exams, write your answers clearly and neatly. Make sure your answer sheets are well-organized.
ii. Use diagrams wherever required (like reaction mechanisms, molecular structures, etc.) and label them properly. Diagrams can help you score extra marks.
iii. Practice writing equations, reactions, and mechanisms in a clear and concise manner.
10. Mock Tests and Sample Papers
i. Regularly take mock tests to evaluate your preparation. This will help you understand the timing, difficulty level, and structure of the exam.
ii. Analyze your performance and focus on areas where you are weak.
