STEMS, a part of the college fest Tessellate, is a nationwide contest that gives students an opportunity to show off their conceptual understanding, win exciting prizes, and attend sessions with world-renowned mathematicians and scientists. The exam is one of its kind as you can attempt it from anywhere and make use of books and online resources.
STEMS (Scholastic Test of Excellence in Mathematical Sciences) is an annual first-of-its-kind open resource examination conducted for students from 8th grade to undergraduates across India. The exam will be held in Mathematics, Physics, and (theoretical) Computer Science in December. The relaxed duration of the exam and original conceptual questions promote academic creativity over rote learning and research interest, increasing the interest and awareness of mathematical sciences amongst the students.

Candidate must be in High school or above.
Award Amount
The top 50 students across streams are eligible to participate in a 3-day camp at CMI.

General Instructions
1. STEMS is an online exam conducted across 3 subjects: Maths, Physics, and Computer Science.
2. Anyone from class 8 till the final year of their undergraduate course can give the exam.
3. Based on the grade, we will assign you to an appropriate category.
4. Duration of Math exam is 6 hours, Physics and Computer Science are for 3 hours each.
5. Question paper is broadly divided into 2 parts: Part A and Part B. Part A consists of objective questions and Part B is subjective.
6. Part B will be graded only if you have scored above a certain cut-off in Part A.
7. Students are allowed to refer to books and online sources to solve the problems.
