Scholarship General Information 

Ashoka Young Change Makers is a carefully selected network of young people who have found their power to create change for the good of all and are ready to take on their role as youth influencers, peer allies, and co-leaders of the global Everyone a Change-maker movement.

Nominations are open year-round for Ashoka Young Change-makers. By completing the nomination form, you are expressing interest to receive an application during the next application cycle per country.

Eligibility Criteria 

1. Under 20 years of age.

2. Founder/Co-founder of an initiative that has achieved a positive impact on the community.

3. Interested in taking on a new role as a role model, youth influencer and co-leader.

Award Amount  

The program is fully funded for selected participants.

Covers:

Programme fees

Residential / boarding costs (if the program is residential)

Workshops, mentorship sessions, and materials.

No. of Scholarships Available 

The program is highly selective, with approximately 25–50 participants chosen annually.

Selection is based on academic excellence, leadership potential, and social impact initiatives

Selection Process 

Stage 1: Online Nomination & Screening

Nominate yourself or someone you know through the online form. Reflect on your journey as a Changemaker and access inspiring ideas to advance your initiative.

Stage 2: National Review

Interact with the Ashoka team in your country. Learn more about the co-leadership opportunities for you to contribute and useful insights to help you accelerate the growth of your leadership and change-making competencies.

Stage 3: International Review

Interact with a Senior Leader from the Ashoka team and with young change-makers from our global network. Understand Ashoka better, and gain expert insights to advance your change-making journey.

Stage 4: Selection Panel

Attend an in-person discussion and selection panel that would include top social entrepreneurs, journalists, and other leaders. Meet other top young change-makers and discuss ideas to influence youth culture in your country and to co-lead the Everyone a Change Maker movement.

Reimbursements are available for all candidates to cover panel-related expenses like domestic travel, accommodation, and food. Candidates can also bring a parent or adult ally during the visit.

Ashoka Young Changemakers (AYC) is a global network of powerful young people who are creating an Everyone A Changemaker world. Each Ashoka Young Changemaker has launched social initiatives, formed peer-led teams, and created solutions for the good of all while activating others to join in. Now, they are stepping up to shape a global conversation in redefining what it means to be a young person growing up in today’s world.
