Scholarship General Information
Applications are invited for the Ashok Khurana Scholarship for Outstanding Indian Students. This scholarship has been established by Professor Ashok Khurana to support the post-graduate education of an outstanding Indian student.
This Scholarship will be open only to candidates undertaking a postgraduate coursework program of study, on a full time basis at the University in the areas of:
1. Education;
2. Agriculture (including Food Security and Wine);
3. Health Services (including Biotechnology);
4. Clean Technology;
5. Environment (including Urban Planning & Architecture);
6. Aerospace;
7. Resources; and any other programs as agreed by the Donor and the University (excluding studies related to Military or Defence).
Eligibility Criteria
1. This scholarship is available to candidates who are Indian nationals who are not currently studying in Australia and/or residing in Australia on a Student, Bridging or any other visa.
2. Candidates must be undertaking postgraduate coursework study leading to a Master’s Degree, or equivalent, on a full-time basis at the University of Adelaide in an area of benefit to India and its people, such as (but not limited to) Education, Agriculture, Health Services, Clean Technology, Environment, Aerospace and Resources (excluding studies related to the Military or Defense).
3. Candidates must be able to demonstrate outstanding potential for leadership and particular academic merit.
Award Amount
The scholarship is valued at $30,000, payable towards the recipient's airfares, living expenses, and tuition fees. The successful applicant may also receive a 50% discount on the tuition fees for the duration of their program.

Selection Process
Selection of the successful applicant will be made according to:
1. academic merit; and
2. a personal statement that demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities and an intention to significantly enhance India's development in their field of study upon completion of their studies.
