Scholarship General Information
The Government of Andhra Pradesh, with a view to supporting the parents of SC/ST/Disabled Children for the education of their wards studying in Class Vth to Xth, has implemented the pre-matric scholarship scheme.
The scheme has been launched with the objective to reduce the rate of drop-outs and improve the performance of students and encourage them to study further by providing them with financial assistance.
Eligibility Criteria
1. SC/ST/Disabled Children studying in Class 5th to 10th, are eligible to apply.
2. Family Income should not be more than 2 Lac per year.
Award Amount
The Andhra Pradesh government provides financial assistance for Pre‑Matric students — but the exact amount isn’t fixed per student in the official scheme notification and varies somewhat by category and benefit component. Typical support levels seen for the Pre‑Matric scholarship include:
Rs. 100 – Rs. 150 per month for school students (classes 5–10)
Plus yearly adhoc grants (example: Rs. 750–Rs. 1,000/Rs. 1,000 for hostellers) depending on grade and residence status
These figures are part of the broader AP State Scholarship scheme that covers Pre‑Matric as one category.

Application Procedure
1. Apply through the Jnanabhumi website.
2. Provide all the required details.
3. Once the details are submitted, the concerned Hostel Welfare Officer (HWO) will verify the application.
4. After confirmation from HWO, District Welfare Officer sanctions the scholarship.
