Scholarship General Information
The Hinrich Global Trade Leader Program, funded by the philanthropic Hinrich Foundation, awards 150 scholarships to eligible students from 10 Asian Countries to pursue a university degree and kick-start a promising career in specified trade. The Hinrich full tuition fee waiver for MA in International Journalism is awarded to the students of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). Through this program, the Hinrich Foundation aims to blend trade knowledge with relevant skills through customized academic programs in partnership with universities and organizations.
Together with Hong Kong Baptist University, Hinrich Foundation offers full tuition scholarships to talented young professionals passionate about fact-based communication for global trade. Studying in Hong Kong, scholars will be exposed to the crossroads of Asia in this global trade entrepot.

Eligibility Criteria
Firstly, to be eligible for the scholarship, students are supposed to take admissions at the Hong Kong Baptist University. Candidates are also required to meet the eligibility criteria as defined by the Hinrich Foundation to avail the scholarship:
1. Should be either a citizen of Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia or India.
2. Should have 5+ years of working experience.
3. Must have acquired at least an undergraduate degree in either marketing, business, journalism, social sciences, or any other related field.
4. Should be proficient in English with a valid test score in support of such proficiency. Acceptable English proficiency test scores are:
a. TOEFL (iBT): 79
b. IELTS 6.5
5. Must showcase strong communication & teamwork skills as well as leadership ability.
Award Amount
1. 100% Tuition Fee (Up to 155, 000 HKD (INR 16, 69, 784)).
2. Monthly Allowance.
3. Visa.
4. Airfare.
As mentioned earlier, the most lucrative aspect of the award is the 12-month internship with Hinrich Foundation to develop practical knowledge and skills as well as a 2-year work placement upon graduation.

No Separate Application or Fee is Required to get the scholarship, it will be automatically considered, once you enrolled for the program.
Application Procedure
Application Process-
Applications for the Hinrich Full Scholarship programs at Hong Kong Baptist University has to be submitted through the foundation’s online portal. The application should be supported by the following documentation:
1. Academic transcripts
2. Valid ELP Scores
3. Updated Curriculum vitae
4. Cover letter
5. Professional LOR
6. A copy of the Passport
7. A 500-word essay on the topic “How will the Work Integrated Learning approach help you to become an outstanding Global Trade Leader?”
Selection Process
1. Applications should be complete in all respect and should be submitted before the scheduled deadline to be considered for the scholarship program. Candidates who can demonstrate a clear understanding of study objectives and can show a connection between their academic rigor and the intended career through the essay and a compelling cover letter stands better scope of winning the award.
2. Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed.
3. Application result will be reflected in the application status in the online application system.

1. The Hinrich Foundation, as a not-for-profit, independent establishment, welcomes individuals to apply for its Global Trade Leader Development Program of which the full scholarship for Masters in International Journalism at HKBU is a part of. Candidates with a keen interest to follow a career path in international journalism with a focus in Asia are promised:
a. Fully sponsored Master of Arts in International Journalism Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University.
