Indian Institute of Science & Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore jointly invite applications for the Summer Fellowship in Science and Engineering for SC/ST students. The aim of the fellowship is to encourage bright young school and undergraduate students to undertake research careers.
Selected candidates will work with one of the faculty members of IISc and learn various techniques used in research.

Eligibility Criteria
1. SC/ST students studying in M Sc. in Biological, Physical, Chemical and Mathematical Sciences OR 3rd or 4th year B E/B Tech or equivalent degree in all disciplines.
2. Those who are in the 1st year M Sc and 3rd year B E/B Tech will be given preference.
3. Those who have already undergone the Summer Fellowship in the previous year/s OR already obtained
M.Sc./BE/BTech/equivalent degrees are not eligible.
Duration of the Programme: One month
Award Amount
1. Travelling allowance equivalent to 2nd Class sleeper train fare from nearest station of college/residence to IISc. and back.
2. Free boarding and lodging (on sharing basis) at IISc.
3. Fellowship of Rs. 5, 000/- and a book grant of Rs.1, 500/-

Application Procedure
1. The students are requested to submit the online application by logging on to the website: http://www.iisc.ac.in.
2. After submitting the online application, the applicant should take a print out of the application form, sign the form, affix latest passport size color photograph and obtain the signature of the Principal of the College for the Study Certificate in the application.
3. The signed application has to be scanned into PDF or Jpg format and uploaded to the website : http://www.iisc.ac.in

Selection Process
1. First All the application form will be evaluated.
2. After evaluation, eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the scholarship.
3. Shortlisting of candidates will be done by authorities.
