Scholarship General Information 

The purpose of the Cargill Global Scholars Program is to build a global network of future leaders who will one day make important contributions to advancing business, agriculture, and food security. The Cargill Global Scholars Program is a distinctive, two-year leadership development program that provides financial support, in addition to leadership development training and one-on-one mentoring.

In addition to financial support, students receive leadership development training, one-on-one mentoring to equip them with the necessary tools to become future global leaders, decision-makers, and influencers, and membership in the alumni community to maintain and create connections. The Cargill Global Scholarship provides financial assistance to students from underrepresented groups who are majoring in specified fields at designated partner universities.

Eligibility Criteria 

The following students are eligible for the scholarship: 

1. Applicant must be a Citizen of India.

2. A first/second-year student in one of the following colleges:

a. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi

b. Delhi Technological University (DTU)

c. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai

d. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli

e. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar

3. A student with good academic performance.

4. Students who demonstrate leadership quality.

Note: Special preference will be given to female candidates.

Award Amount  

1. An annual scholarship award of Rs. 2,09,925 (USD 2500) for up to 2 years, to help offset any academic-related expenses.

2. An opportunity to participate in a fully-funded 3-day leadership seminar during the first year of the program designed to enhance the scholars’ leadership skills.

3. An opportunity to participate in a fully funded Global Leadership Seminar to be held at one of Cargill’s global locations during the second year of the program.

4. An opportunity to be paired with a Cargill leader who will serve as a mentor, the mentors will help the scholars identify short and long-term academic and professional goals and assist in reaching these goals.

5. The selected scholar will become a member of the Cargill Global Scholars alumni community.

In India, 10 scholarships are being awarded for each academic year to students from leading science and technology institutions.
