Join a diverse cohort of fellows from across the country in a year-long experience, from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025, filled with enriching learning milestones. Dive into the multifaceted world of Goonj’s initiatives, spanning women’s health & hygiene, School, environment, sanitation, disaster response, and urban events like the Joy of Giving Week and Chaupal.
As a fellow, you’ll have the opportunity for hands-on rural immersion, exploring the vast landscapes of 27 states & union territories. Engage in self-driven projects aligned with your passion, gaining practical experience and contributing to meaningful initiatives. The curriculum is designed for interdisciplinary learning, featuring skill labs, mentorship, and ecosystem exposure throughout the fellowship year. Goonj Setu Fellowship is an opportunity offered by Goonj (a non-profit organization) to graduates aged between 21 to 30 years old. This program provides an opportunity for individuals to understand themselves but also the larger social ecosystem, the dynamics, innovations, and how small things can bring about significant changes. The selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly stipend ranging between ₹20,000 - ₹22,000 depending on the city along with other benefits.

Eligibility Criteria
The Goonj fellowship is provided to young graduates and professionals in India. The other eligibility criteria for the fellowship application are given below:
1. The applicant should have a graduate degree in any discipline.
2. The fellowship is provided to Indian citizens only.
3. The applicant should be between 21-30 years of age with a maximum age of 30 years.
4. basic understanding of English / Hindi.
5. Adept with technology – basic computer knowledge: Ms Office and other tools.
Award Amount
1. The selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly stipend ranging between ₹20,000 - ₹22,000 depending on the city.
2. Travel allowances for both city and fieldwork will be reimbursed based on documented expenses.
3. Additionally, fellows will accrue 20 paid leave days per year, in addition to all regular national holidays.

Selection Process
1. Start by filling out the online application form.
2. If your application is shortlisted, you will be called for an assessment and the panel interview at the nearest Goonj office.
3. Upon selection, you will receive an invitation to join the Goonj Setu Fellowship program.

The important documents required to submit along with the Goonj fellowship application form are given below:

2. Statement of Purpose (SOP) with less than 500 words.
Goonj Fellowship Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions for the Goonj fellowship are given below:
1. The SOP should clearly answer questions such as why the applicant is applying for the fellowship, what does he/ she expect to get out of this experience, and how the fellowship will help them in the future action plan.
2. Goonj has offices in Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Rishikesh, Chennai, Kochi, and Mumbai and the candidates are placed in any of the locations based on need and interest.
3. The fellow should not pursue any online/ offline course during the fellowship period.
4. The candidate can be placed in any rural/ urban area for a short/ long term during the fellowship.
5. The issues and ideas of the candidate should be aligned with Goonj’s ongoing work/ projects.
6. If the applicant has any specific passion/ idea, they should mention it in the application and interview.
7. The applicants from social work, liberal arts, entrepreneurship studies, and the people who have done other prestigious fellowships like Gandhi fellowship, Teach for India fellowship, YIFs, Jagriti Yatra are eligible to apply for the fellowship but will not be given any extra preference or advantage.
8. The fellowship will be for 12 months and any candidate who leaves at any point before the completion of the fellowship will not be given any certificate.
9. The fellowship has a lock-in period of 6 months during which if the fellow leaves he/ she will not be given the fellowship certificate and a month’s stipend will be held back.
10. The candidate can only quit the fellowship halfway in case of health emergencies.
