SRISTI (Society for Research and Initiatives for Sustainable Technologies and Institutions) and the Honey Bee Network proudly introduce the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation Awards.These awards have been established to recognize and celebrate the ingenuity of young student innovators across diverse fields such as technology, engineering, agriculture, design, pharmacy, science, and various applied technologies. In addition to the main awards, we will also present 15 appreciation awards to commend outstanding contributions.
The awards will be given to young student innovators in the following categories:
1. MLM (More from Less for Many), Frugal Innovation Award: This category acknowledges ideas that excel in resource efficiency, affordability, and sustainability. We are seeking innovations that do more with less, showcasing novel ways of economizing on materials while remaining extremely cost-effective.
2. Socially Relevant Technological Innovation Award: In this category, we recognize ideas that tackle unmet social needs or enhance the functionality of existing solutions. The emphasis is on increasing affordability and driving circularity, ensuring compatibility with ecological principles.
3. Technological-Edge Award: Celebrating breakthroughs, this award honors ideas that boldly push the boundaries in various technological domains. We encourage submissions that advance the frontiers of innovation across different disciplines.

Eligibility Criteria
An Indian Student pursuing UG/PG/Ph.D. in Engineering/technology is eligible to apply for this award. The student should have a valid ID issued by the Institution/University. A No Objection Certificate (NoC), as per the prescribed format needs to be submitted along with the application.

Application Procedure
The applications have to be submitted at http://www.techpedia.in/award but only the abstract of the content submitted along with the innovator details would be published at the site. If the students wish to have incubation support, they should clearly indicate the same in their application form. SIIE-Bio-NEST incubator supported by BIRAC, DBT, Government of India at SRISTI Innovations, welcomes applications from innovative biotech researchers.
The young technology students are invited to submit their entries for the above awards at Gandhian Young Technological http://Innovation.techpedia.in/award site. The applications for life- sciences will be submitted at http:// http://BIRAC.nic.in
For the awards in life sciences, biotechnology, medical devices, agriculture, pharmacy, etc., the applications can be submitted online by the postgraduate students at BIRAC website. These applications will be considered for the SITARE-GYTI award and not SRISTI-GYTI awards.
Selection Process
The full project report of the shortlisted projects will be needed for final evaluation. Video, photographs, test reports, comparative advantage vis a vis existing solutions in that domain, literature & patent review, etc., may be with the full project report.

Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Awards celebrates the spirit of student innovation in all the fields of engineering, science, technology and design through extremely affordable/frugal solution or the ones pushing the technological edge. For example -
1. communities at grassroots
2. co-creation with grassroots innovators
3. manufacturable technologies for saving or generating energy, sanitation, water purification, saving material consumption
4. biotechnology and medical devices
5. diagnostics
6. assistive devices for physically challenged, and all others areas of social and industrial applications. One can submit more than one application in hard-core manufacturing areas, including but not restricted to aerospace, transportation, construction, textile, electronics, Nano-technologies, computer science applications etc.
