Scholarship General Information 

In 2006, Cummins India Foundation (CIF) initiated the ‘Cummins Scholarship Program’ for meritorious students from financially and socially disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue professional degrees and diploma courses. Cummins also entrusts these scholars to its senior employees, who as mentors provide guidance to selected students through the entire duration of the course.

Eligibility Criteria 

Students meeting below criterion can only apply for the Scholarship:

1. Students currently pursuing professional degree/diploma in Engineering at an educational institute recognized by the University Grants Commission / Central / State Government OR students who have scored a minimum of 60% marks in their senior secondary exam or higher secondary exam and have taken admission for further Engineering studies in Degree or Diploma.

2. Students elevating to 1st, 2nd & 3rd year of Engineering (Degree) OR 1st, 2nd year of Diploma can also apply. However, students must have scored minimum 60% in all their previous examinations.

3. Age of candidates should not exceed 25 years.

4. Preference will be given to 1st / 2nd year degree and diploma students.

5. Students appearing for the last year of Engineering degree / diploma and the post graduate students are not eligible for this Scholarship.

6. The total family income of the students, from all sources, should not exceed ₹. 6 Lacs (Six lakhs) per annum.

7. Students can avail this scholarship program who are currently studying in and around Ahmednagar, Indore, Jamshedpur, Phaltan, Pune, and aspirational districts – Dharashiv (Maharashtra), Vidisha, Guna, Rajgarh (MP) and Northeast, ONLY.

8. Cummins Scholarship is not available if anybody from applicant’s family has availed the scholarship in the past and/or present.

9. Applicants must be ready with following documents at the application stage. The Program Manager will ask for the documents at an appropriate time. This is critical for selection process:

a. All marksheets - Class 10th onwards (original) till date, showing applicants have no backlogs, and scored minimum 60% in all their academic examinations.

b. Receipt of the fee paid to college for the current year (i.e., for 2024-25)

c. Income Certificate for 2023-24

Award Amount  

The admission and tuition fees payable to the Educational Institution are covered under the Scholarship. Further, the expenses borne by the beneficiary towards purchasing stationery up to 1,500/- per semester are reimbursed.

Application Procedure 

1. Online application forms are available when students click on ‘Apply Now’ link. Incomplete online application forms shall not be considered.

2. Applicants must enter correct and authentic data in the application form. The data will be verified, and, if found incorrect / not authentic, then such students’ candidature will not be considered.

Selection Process 

1. The candidates will be invited for an aptitude test after scrutinizing the application forms. The candidates clearing the aptitude tests will be invited for personal interviews.

2. The candidates shortlisted for personal interviews, will be requested to email the supporting documents which will be scrutinized before the students appear for the personal interviews.

3. The final list of selected candidates will be announced soon after the personal interviews.

Please note, Cummins' decision about selection or rejection of any candidate under this Scholarship Program will be final and binding on candidates. Selected candidates will be updated about the results of the selection process, hence, please be accessible on e-mail and SMS once you apply. Please do not have registered mobile numbers on Do Not Disturb (DND) mode.

Private tuition fees, expenses for accommodation / hostel fee, mess charges, transport expenses. canteen or cafeteria charges and/ or deposits whether refundable / non-refundable or caution money demanded by the Educational Institution etc.
