Scholarship General Information
AORA – SONOSITE Fellowship is primarily intended to encourage and inspire young anesthesiologists in India to make regional anesthesia a strong part of their skill set. It also offers an insight into the best practices in the field of regional anesthesia along with the opportunity to associate and network with experts in the field. This is a 6 day observership / fellowship program for the anaesthesia postgraduate students (MD, DA, DNB) to visit Centres of Excellence in Regional Anaesthesia in India.
The fellowship needs to be completed within the same calendar year. Eg. Candidates who appear for the entrance examination in AORA will have to complete the fellowship.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The applicants should be postgraduates doing either MD/DA/DNB or have completed their degree (MD/DA/DNB) after 2016 in MCI recognised institutions. They should be Indian nationals.
2. The entrance examination will be conducted during the AORA National Conference in Trivandrum. Details are available on the website www.aoraindia.com.
3. If selected, the candidates will have to travel to one of the institutions in India, where they will be doing a six day observership in ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia.
Award Amount
The AORA-Sonosite fellowship offers funding up to Rs 25,000 for each candidate. This will be offered to fund travel (flight/train/bus) and accommodation expenses (only) to the selected center. All other expenses need to be borne by the candidate. Expenses beyond Rs. 25,000 will have to be borne by the candidate. Booking of flights and accommodation will have to be done by the candidate and the reimbursement will be done later.

Application Procedure
1. The pre-qualification form for the fellowship is www.aoraindia2024.com.
2. Conference registration is mandatory for entrance exam.
3. The entrance exam will be conducted during the AORA National Conference in Trivandrum. Details are available on the website www.aoraindia2024.com.
Selection Process
1. Selection of the candidates will be done through a written examination that will be held during the annual AORA Annual conference.
2. The selection of the candidates will be based on the results of the examination. Selection of the institution will be based on the preference stated by the candidate during the examination. The highest rank candidate will be offered the institution of his choice, and so forth.
3. The examination will consist of 60 multiple-choice questions that require to be answered in 60 minutes. The questions will involve topics related to regional anesthesia. This includes (but is not limited to), anatomy, pharmacology, physics of ultrasound and nerve stimulation, equipment, current clinical practices, and advances. There will be no negative marking.
4. The results of the examination and the placement of the candidates will be announced within a week of the examination.

Documents to be produced
1. Post graduates (MD/DA/DNB) should produce a bonafide certificate duly signed by HOD stating the concerned candidate is doing the post graduation at the concerned institute.
2. Candidates who have passed (MD/DA/DNB) should produce their degree pass certificate or provisional pass certificate.
