What is the SBI PO exam?

State Bank of India (SBI) every year conducts an SBI PO exam to select eligible candidates for the post of Probationary Officer. A large number of candidates apply for the exam, out of which only a few are selected depending on the number of vacancies.

How many times can I give SBI PO exam?

There is capping on the number of attempts in the SBI PO exam. General Category candidates can take four attempts. For other categories, the number of attempts is limited to seven. Candidates within the prescribed age limit can apply for the exam.

I have completed graduation from the Science stream. Can I apply for SBI PO?

Yes, candidates from any discipline can apply for the SBI PO exam.

Are SBI PO and IBPS PO the same?

No, both SBI PO and IBPS PO examinations are different. Whereas SBI PO is conducted by the State Bank of India for the recruitment of Probationary Officers for their SBI Branches, IBPS PO is conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection for the role of Probationary Officers in various Public Sector Banks of India.

 I am in the final year of graduation. Can I apply for the SBI PO exam?

What is the SBI PO exam pattern for the mains exam?

SBI PO mains exam comprises both objective and descriptive type tests. The objective test consists of four sections and the descriptive test comprises English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

In which language SBI PO question paper is made available?

The question paper of SBI PO is made available in both English and Hindi. 

 Are there any qualifying marks in the SBI PO exam?

The examination authority decides category-wise SBI PO cut-off marks to select candidates for the subsequent rounds of the selection process.

SBI PO scorecard is released along with the result. Candidates can access their scorecards by logging in with the required credentials.

 Is the SBI PO result declared separately for different stages?

Yes, the SBI PO result is declared separately for different stages. Based on the prelims exam, candidates are selected for the mains exam. On the basis of the performance in the mains exam, candidates are selected for the interview. The final result is prepared based on the main exam and interview.

 Are the marks of the SBI PO prelims exam counted for the final merit list?

No, the marks of the prelims exam of SBI PO are not counted for the merit list.

How is the final merit list of SBI PO prepared?

 While preparing the final result of SBI PO, the marks of candidates are normalized out of 100. Marks secured by the candidates in the mains exam out of 250 are converted to 75 while the marks of the interview out of 50 marks are converted to 25.

What after the declaration of SBI PO final result?

Selected candidates of the SBI PO exam are required to download the letter of appointment from the official website by logging in with the roll number, date of birth, and verification code.
