SBI has released the SBI PO Official Notification 2023 on the official website. Candidates can apply online between 7 September 2023 to 27 September 2023. SBI PO 2023 Prelims exam will be held on November/December 2023 (tentative) and Mains exam will be held on December 2023/January 2024 (tentative).

1. First, the percentile rank of the students for each shift of the exam is calculated using the formula given below -
Percentile rank of the candidates = ((Total Students in a shift - Rank of candidate in that shift)/(Total Students in a shift - 1)) x 100
2. After that, based on the number of available vacancies, a cut-off percentile rank is decided.
3. Based on this cut-off score, candidates are shortlisted for the next phase of the recruitment process.
Note :- Scores up to two decimal points shall be taken for the purpose of calculations.
SBI PO MAINS INTERVIEW
In view of the Social Distancing and safety measures necessitated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 3rd Phase may consist of:-
1. Interview only (50 marks) (OR)
2. Interview (30 marks) & Group Exercises (20 marks).
Candidates will have to score minimum qualifying marks in Phase-III to be considered for final selection.
Note:- Candidates who have registered themselves as OBC but do not submit OBC 'Non-Creamy layer' certificate and request to be interviewed under the General category will not be entertained.

The full form of SBI PO is the State Bank of India Probationary Officer. The SBI PO exam is administered to fill vacancies for the position of Probation Officer in various SBI branches. The SBI PO exam is completely objective and is administered at various centers across the country. The candidate’s eligibility for the SBI PO Examination is based on the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

3. Educational Qualifications
4. Number of Attempts
SBI PO NATIONALITY
A candidate must be either -
1. A Citizen of India or
2. A subject of Nepal or
3. A subject of Bhutan or
4. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India,
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) & (5) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

SBI PO MAINS EXAM
The full form of SBI PO is the State Bank of India Probationary Officer. The SBI PO exam is administered to fill vacancies for the position of Probation Officer in various SBI branches. The SBI PO exam is completely objective and is administered at various centers across the country. The candidate’s eligibility for the SBI PO Examination is based on the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

3. Educational Qualifications
4. Number of Attempts
SBI PO NATIONALITY
A candidate must be either -
1. A Citizen of India or
2. A subject of Nepal or
3. A subject of Bhutan or
4. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India,
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) & (5) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

SBI PO Mains 2023: Who Can Apply
The candidates who qualify for the SBI PO Preliminary Examination with the required cut-off as decided by the SBI are eligible for SBI PO Main Examination.
Nationality:
A candidate must be either -
1. A Citizen of India or
2. A subject of Nepal or
3. A subject of Bhutan or
4. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

SBI PO Mains 2023: Admission to Examination Centres
1. Candidates should reach the examination center 1 hour prior to the commencement of the exam.
2. Candidates need to bring the printed copy of their SBI PO admit card along with one photo-identity proof (original and photocopy)
3. Candidates need to paste their recent passport-size photographs on it. Candidates need to bring one additional photograph.
4. The accepted photo-identity proof is PAN Card/Passport/Permanent Driving License/Voter’s Card/Bank Passbook with photograph/photo identity proof issued by a Gazetted Officer (on official letterhead)/Photo Identity proof issued by a People’s Representative (on official letterhead)/ Identity Card issued by a recognized College/University/Aadhar Card/E-Aadhar Card with a photograph/Employee ID/Bar Council Identity card with the photograph).

SBI PO Mains 2023: Mode of Selection
The selection of Probationary Officers will be done through a three-phase process:
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:
The Preliminary Examination of SBI PO will be held as an Online Computer Based test and will consist of a total of 100 Questions and 100 Marks divided among three sections. 20 minutes of time duration will be provided for each section. The Preliminary Examination of SBI PO 2022 will be held as an Online Computer Based test and will consist of a total of 100 Questions and 100 Marks divided among three sections. 20 minutes of time duration will be provided for each section.
Selection criteria for Main Examination: Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Preliminary Examination. There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates numbering 10 times (approx.) the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the top of the above merit list.
Phase-II: Main Examination:
Main Examination will be conducted online and will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. The Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after the conclusion of the Objective Test and candidates will have to type their Descriptive Test answers on the computer.
Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both - Preliminary & Main Examination): There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at a corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question. Sectional Marks will not be maintained for both Preliminary & Main Examinations.
Selection criteria for Phase III: Category wise merit list will be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in Phase II (Main Exam). There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category-wise vacancies will be shortlisted for Phase-III from the top of the category-wise merit list subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score, as decided by the Bank.
Final Selection
The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. The marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Phase-III for preparing the final merit list. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection.
The marks obtained by the candidates in Phase-II (Main Examination both Objective & Descriptive Tests) and Phase-III (Group Exercise & Interview) will be normalised to 100 marks as detailed below.
