RESERVE BANK OF INDIA JUNIOR ENGINEER EXAM

The Reserve Bank of India was established on April 1, 1935 in accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.
The Central Office of the Reserve Bank was initially established in Kolkata but was permanently moved to Mumbai in 1937. The Central Office is where the Governor sits and where policies are formulated.
Though originally privately owned, since nationalisation in 1949, the Reserve Bank is fully owned by the Government of India.

RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER EXAM PATTERN

The Examination for RBI JE shall be held as an Objective Type Computer Based Test. It shall contain a total of 180 questions and 300 marks. The total time allotted is 150 minutes.

RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER MODE OF EXAMINATION

The Examination for RBI JE Examination will be held as a Computer Based Examination and will contain only Objective Type, Multiple choice based questions.

RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER MEDIUM OF EXAMINATION

The above tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. in English and Hindi.

RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER MARKING SCHEME

Questions from the above-mentioned sections are asked in RBI JE Examination where, English Language & General Intelligence & Reasoning section comprise 50 Questions and 50 Marks each and Engineering Discipline Paper I & II comprise 40 Questions of 100 marks each summing, up to 300 Marks.

Marking Scheme Highlights

1. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests.1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

2. No marks will be deducted for the Unattempted Questions.

Standardisation of Scores: If the exam is conducted in more than one session, the scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions will be equated using equi-percentile method.

RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TEST

1. The candidates provisionally selected from the online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT).

2. A candidate not proficient in the Official/Local Language/s would be disqualified.

RESERVE BANK OF INDIA JUNIOR ENGINEER EXAM

Candidates willing to apply for RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER Examination are required to fulfil certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities.
The criteria for eligibility RBI JE are decided by the conduction body itself.

The candidate’s eligibility for RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:

RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER NATIONALITY

A candidate must be either :

1. A Citizen of India or

2. A subject of Nepal or

3. A subject of Bhutan or

4. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India or

5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India, shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

6. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

NOTE. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination, but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER AGE LIMIT & RELAXATION

The candidate should be between 20 & 30 years of age.

Relaxation in the Upper Age Limit:

RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

Junior Engineer (Civil): Minimum three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised Institute or University or Board with minimum 65% of marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD)
OR
Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University with 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD).

Junior Engineer (Electrical): Minimum three years Diploma in Electrical or Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognised Institute or University or Board with minimum 65% of marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD)
OR
Degree in Electrical or Electrical and Electronic Engineering from a recognised University with 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD).

RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER EXPERIENCE

Junior Engineer (Civil): At least 2 years’ experience for Diploma holders or at least 1-year experience for Degree holders in execution and supervision of civil construction work and/ or civil maintenance of office buildings/ commercial buildings/ residential complexes with basic knowledge of RCC design and other civil works, working knowledge of computers, experience in preparation of tenders for civil works, etc or a 1-year graduate apprenticeship training in a PSU.

Junior Engineer (Electrical): At least 2 years’ experience for Diploma holders or at least 1-year experience for Degree holders in execution and supervision of electrical installations in large buildings/ commercial buildings having HT/ LT substations, central AC plants, lifts, UPS, DG sets, CCTV, Fire alarm system, etc or a 1-year graduate apprenticeship training in a PSU.

RBI JUNIOR ENGINEER ELIGIBILITY HIGHLIGHTS

1. A candidate shall be a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan.

2. A candidate should be atleast 20 years of age and should not be more than 30 years.

3. A candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Graduation Degree from a recognised university or equivalent with required percentage in relevant field of study to be eligible to appear for the examination.

Unfortunately, no vacancy has been declared by RBI JE Examination for 2022. The last notification for the post of RBI JE was posted in the year 2021. The examination was successfully conducted on 8th March 2021. The result was declared on 2nd July 2021.
