AILET UG EXAMINATION 2025: LATEST UPDATE
National Law University Delhi (NLU Delhi) has released the notification for AILET exam on its official website, the last date to apply is 08 November 2024, the admit card will be issued on 28 November 2024 and AILET exam will be conducted on 08 December 2024.

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted by National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) for admission undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctorate (PhD) level law courses. This is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission in law programmes at NLU Delhi only.
SYLLABUS:
NLU Delhi has released modified syllabi of AILET for the BA LLB and LLM programs. The AILET question paper for the BA LLB will now include questions from THREE sections (and not five). The Legal Aptitude and Mathematics sections have been dropped. The weightage of questions asked per section has also changed. EXAM PATTERN
The AILET 2025 for UG programme will have three (3) sections of 150 multiple choice questions for 150 marks in total. The duration of the examination is 120 minutes.
The three sections will be:
Section A: English Language (50 questions; 50 marks).
Section B: Current Affairs & General Knowledge (30 questions; 30 marks).
Section C: Logical Reasoning (70 questions; 70 marks).
Legal principles may be used in the logical reasoning section to test logical aptitude but the examination will not require any kind of legal knowledge or technical understanding.

1. There will be Negative Marking in AILET 2025. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4 = 1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark.
2. If two or more candidates get the same marks at the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), their merit will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the section on LOGICAL REASONING in the AILET 2025.
3. If the merit is still same, then the candidate senior in age shall get preference. If still there is no change in merit, then computerized draw of lots shall be taken into consideration.

1. Candidate must be a citizen of Indian.
2. All candidates, other than those applying under the Foreign Nationals category, should appear for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and selection shall be solely on that basis. The Foreign National and OCI/PIO candidates are also required to apply online on the same portal.
Age Limit & Relaxations
There is no specific age limit mentioned to apply for AILET Exam.
Educational Qualification:
1. Candidate have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or an equivalent examination thereto securing in the aggregate not less than 45% of the total marks (42% in case of OBC's and 40% for SC/ST/Person with Disability). The Eligibility condition for admission of students under the Foreign Nationals Category shall be 65% marks in the Higher Secondary School Examination of (10+2) system or an equivalent examination.
2. Candidates appearing/awaiting results of the qualifying examination can also apply and appear in the Entrance Test. However, the eligibility by such candidates shall have to be obtained by the cut-off date, which will be notified along with the Notification of Entrance Test result and in case such candidate is placed in compartment in the year of the admission, would be treated as ineligible.
3. The admission of foreign nationals shall be made based on satisfying the prescribed academic qualifications. The candidates who possess citizenship of a country other than India and hold valid passport shall be eligible to apply under this category. They are exempted from taking the admission test. The other regulations regarding the eligibility for admission will be the same as applicable to the other candidates.
4. The candidates belonging to Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/Person of Indian Origin (PIO) category may apply under the OCI/PIO category as well as under the category of Indian students separately (They have to submit the two different application forms i.e. one for India National and another for OCI/PIO category). In case the OCI/PIO candidates apply under the category of Indian National, they have to appear in the All Indian Law Entrance Test along with other Indian students.
5. The merit of the Foreign National and OCI/PIO Category will be drawn on the basis of percentage of marks in the qualifying exam.
6. The unfilled seats under Foreign National and OCI/PIO will be carried over to General Category and filled on AILET Merit.
7. Definition of Foreign Nationals: The candidates who possess citizenship of a country other than India and hold valid passport of foreign country.

Railway Recruitment Board RRB has released the Assistant Loco Pilot ALP Recruitment Notification on 20th January 2024, aimed to fill 18,799 posts. The application process has started and the last date to apply online was 19th February 2024. Filling up the AILET 2022 application form: Click on the "REGISTER" option. Fill out the AILET REGISTRATION FORM by entering your name, mobile number and email ID
Select the Law Course
1. The exam is conducted for undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses in law, therefore, candidates need to select the course they are applying for.
2. For this candidates need to select the application form for – BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD.
3. Upload Photograph, Signature & Certificates: Upload photographs, and signatures. After filling AILET application form, candidates will be asked to upload the scanned copies of their recent passport size photograph and specimen signature as per the given specifications.

COUNSELLING PROCESS:
The AILET online counselling process includes the following steps:
Step 1: Check AILET invite list
Firstly, all the qualifying candidates need to check their names/roll numbers in the invite list released by NLU Delhi. The invite list will be released for BA LLB (Hons) and LLM courses separately.
Step 2: Register for AILET counselling
All candidates whose names/roll numbers appear in the invite list then have to register themselves for the counselling on the NLU Delhi admission portal -
1. Upload all the prescribed documents
2. Pay AILET counselling fee of INR 50,000
Step 3: Check provisional admission list
Next, NLU Delhi will release the provisional admission lists containing the names, roll numbers and marks of candidates selected for admission. In case, there will be any vacant seats after the first list, the second admission list wil also be released by NLU Delhi on the official website.
Step 4: Pay balance fee
Lastly, candidates who wish to accept the seat then need to pay the remaining amount of admission fee in online mode.

EXAM PATTERN:
The AILET 2025 for UG programme will have three (3) sections of 150 multiple choice questions for 150 marks in total. The duration of the examination is 120 minutes.
The three sections will be:
Section A: English Language (50 questions; 50 marks).
Section B: Current Affairs & General Knowledge (30 questions; 30 marks).
Section C: Logical Reasoning (70 questions; 70 marks).
Legal principles may be used in the logical reasoning section to test logical aptitude but the examination will not require any kind of legal knowledge or technical understanding.

Mode of Examination:
AILET B.A.LL.B.(HONS.) Examination will be held as an Offline Pen-Paper based Test. Questions will be Objective type Multiple choice in nature.
Medium of Examination:
The exam paper for AILET Examination will be in English language.
Marking Scheme:
1. There will be Negative Marking in AILET 2025. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4 = 1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark.
2. If two or more candidates get the same marks at the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), their merit will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the section on LOGICAL REASONING in the AILET 2025.
3. If the merit is still same, then the candidate senior in age shall get preference. If still there is no change in merit, then computerized draw of lots shall be taken into consideration.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
National Law University, Delhi sets the AILET Eligibility for the exam. Candidates must check the AILET eligibility criteria in detail before filling the application form. It is important to check all the information about the eligibility to avoid the last stages of disqualification.
The candidate’s eligibility for AILET B.A.LL.B.(HONS.) Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:-

Nationality
1. Candidate must be a citizen of Indian.
2. All candidates, other than those applying under the Foreign Nationals category, should appear for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and selection shall be solely on that basis. The Foreign National and OCI/PIO candidates are also required to apply online on the same portal.
Age Limit & Relaxations
There is no specific age limit mentioned to apply for AILET Exam.
Educational Qualification:
1. Candidate have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) system or an equivalent examination thereto securing in the aggregate not less than 45% of the total marks (42% in case of OBC's and 40% for SC/ST/Person with Disability). The Eligibility condition for admission of students under the Foreign Nationals Category shall be 65% marks in the Higher Secondary School Examination of (10+2) system or an equivalent examination.
2. Candidates appearing/awaiting results of the qualifying examination can also apply and appear in the Entrance Test. However, the eligibility by such candidates shall have to be obtained by the cut-off date, which will be notified along with the Notification of Entrance Test result and in case such candidate is placed in compartment in the year of the admission, would be treated as ineligible.
3. The admission of foreign nationals shall be made based on satisfying the prescribed academic qualifications. The candidates who possess citizenship of a country other than India and hold valid passport shall be eligible to apply under this category. They are exempted from taking the admission test. The other regulations regarding the eligibility for admission will be the same as applicable to the other candidates.
4. The candidates belonging to Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/Person of Indian Origin (PIO) category may apply under the OCI/PIO category as well as under the category of Indian students separately (They have to submit the two different application forms i.e. one for India National and another for OCI/PIO category). In case the OCI/PIO candidates apply under the category of Indian National, they have to appear in the All Indian Law Entrance Test along with other Indian students.
5. The merit of the Foreign National and OCI/PIO Category will be drawn on the basis of percentage of marks in the qualifying exam.
6. The unfilled seats under Foreign National and OCI/PIO will be carried over to General Category and filled on AILET Merit.
7. Definition of Foreign Nationals: The candidates who possess citizenship of a country other than India and hold valid passport of foreign country.
8. Definition of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)/Person of Indian Origin (PIO): As notified by the Govt. of India.

Select the Law Course
1. The exam is conducted for undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses in law, therefore, candidates need to select the course they are applying for.
2. For this candidates need to select the application form for – BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and PhD.
3. Upload Photograph, Signature & Certificates: Upload photographs, and signatures. After filling AILET application form, candidates will be asked to upload the scanned copies of their recent passport size photograph and specimen signature as per the given specifications.
