About Course

Radiotherapy is a three-year undergraduate program that focuses on radiotherapy. Radiotherapy is a branch of science that studies radiotherapy and how it is used to treat cancer patients. It is also referred to as XT or XRT. Radiotherapy is a critical component of cancer treatment because it aids in the destruction of cancerous cells, preventing disease spread before or after surgery. It is a secondary treatment used in conjunction with chemotherapy to prevent disease spread. Students with a Bachelor of Science in Radiotherapy work closely with radiation oncologists to treat cancer patients, though it is also used to treat some non-cancerous diseases. Students with a strong interest in biology and a solid understanding of physics can pursue a rewarding career in this field of science.

Why Choose Course And Required Skills

Because of their difficult job responsibilities, radiotherapy professionals are very special people. Every day brings new challenges. Their job requires only a few characteristics to ensure that they provide physical and psychological support to their patients.

The following are the skills/attributes needed to become excellent radiotherapy professionals:

Compassion - The ability to calm patients who are experiencing physical or emotional distress

Interpersonal skills - they should be able to effectively interact with patients

Effective Communication Skills - They should be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Critical Thinker - The radiotherapy professional should have strong analytical skills in order to review the patients' radiation reports

Problem Solving - The ability to solve problems is essential for becoming a radiotherapy professional

Eligibility

The eligibility for the BSc Radiography course is as follows:

1. Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board in India.

2. Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects.

3. Some institutes require a minimum aggregate score of 50% in class 12 an additional criterion of eligibility for BSc Radiotherapy

Entrance Exams Details

Some colleges and universities offer direct admission to BSc Radiotherapy programs, while others require an entrance exam. As a result, in order to secure admission to their desired colleges/universities, candidates must pass the following entrance exams:

AIIMS Paramedical Entrance Exam: The AIIMS Paramedical Entrance Exam is a national-level entrance exam held by the All Indian Institute of Medical Science for admission to paramedical courses. In June, the exam will be administered online

CPNET (Combined Paramedical, Pharmacy, and Nursing Entrance Test): This is a state-level entrance examination for admission to Pharmacy, Paramedical, and Nursing programs administered by the Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences. In September, it is held in an offline mode.
