About Course
Master of Surgery in Ayurveda (MS Ayurveda) is a postgraduate level degree in medicine that deals with the recognition of different surgical techniques, surgical disorders, surgical emergency management, trauma, etc. The course provides knowledge of both modern and traditional surgical techniques. Unlike usual Master degrees in India, the duration of the Master of Surgery in Ayurveda is a three year. The course is further divided into different semesters.
Some colleges offering MS in Ayurveda course follow semester system of examination, whereas some follow the annual system of examination. The course covers a wide range of topics like Gynaecology, Forensic Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Diagnostic Procedures, Principles of Medicine, Social and Preventive Medicine, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Obstetrics, ENT, etc.
In India, the annual fee for MS in Ayurveda ranges from INR 1 to 7 lakhs as per the standards of the institute offering the course. In order to get admission in MS Ayurveda colleges in India, candidates need to meet the minimum eligibility requirements for the course. If one fails to meet these requirements, she/ he will not be allowed to pursue the course. Eligibility
Candidates must ensure to meet certain eligibility criteria to get admission in M.S. in Ayurveda. 1. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
2. The degree should be recognised by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM).
3. After 4 ½ years of the Bachelor’s degree, candidates must have completed a rotatory internship of six months.
4. Candidates who hold an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) degree from an MCI (Medical Council of India) approved institution are also considered eligible for the course.
5. Candidates must have scored a minimum of 50 percent marks in the intermediate level of examination.
6. The maximum age requirement to pursue a Master of Surgery in Ayurveda is 35 years. The criteria may vary from institution to institution.
