Admission Process
As mentioned above, many BBA colleges in India offer admissions to students on the basis of their Class 12th scores and if they satisfy the eligibility criteria. However, some universities select candidates for BBA courses based on their scores in entrance exams. A counseling process is organized for students who qualify for the entrance exams and fulfill the admission eligibility criteria. Here's the detailed BBA selection process for colleges that allow admission through entrance exams.
Stage 1: Appear for the BBA Entrance Exam
The first step is to apply for the BBA entrance exams mentioned above. If you are targeting any particular BBA college, apply for the entrance exam it accepts and check the requirements. To appear for the entrance exams, one needs to meet the minimum eligibility criteria for each entrance exam. Most BBA entrance exams allow general category candidates with 50% aggregate marks and 45% aggregate marks for reserved category students.
Stage 2: Check If You Qualified for the Exam
Once you have appeared for the entrance exam, you need to wait for the results. All entrance exams have different ways of calculating the marks. While some consider the marks scored, some consider the percentile. So, make sure to check the rules of the exam. If you have cleared the minimum cutoff of the exam, you will be eligible to participate in the counseling rounds. Each college releases its minimum cutoff marks based on the entrance exams accepted for admissions.
Stage 3: Apply for BBA College/Institute
Those who meet the cutoff must apply for the BBA course admission process to the college/institute. Anyone who does not meet the cutoff and still applies will not be considered for admission. One should know that scores for most of the entrance exams are valid for one year only. So, check the validity of the score before applying for admission.
Stage 4: Participate in GD/PI Rounds
Based on the entrance exam scores, candidates will be shortlisted and called for group discussions or personal interview rounds. BBA colleges offering direct admissions on a merit basis also conduct personal interview rounds.
Stage 5: Pay the Admission Fee and Freez Your Seat
After evaluating a student on various parameters like entrance exam scores, GD/PI performance, academic scores, and working experience, the final merit list is declared and seats are allotted based on the choice filling. The selected candidates have to pay the BBA admission course fee to freeze their seats. Simultaneously, the waiting list of candidates is also declared. If there are any vacant seats or availability, students from the waiting list will be offered admission.
