About Course 

ITI in Mechanic Motor Vehicle also referred to as ITI in Automobile Engineering is a 2-year regular vocational training program for students who are interested in Motor Vehicle Engineering. The students learn about the automobile sector at the basic level while pursuing the course. Looking at the growing career opportunities in the automobile sector, many students are taking admission in ITI in Motor Vehicle. The course is designed very strategically to make students industry ready and teach them every detail about motor vehicle repair, design, modification, etc.  

ITI Mechanic Motor Vehicle trains the students in every aspect involved in servicing and repairing motor vehicles. One can explore job opportunities in both private and government sectors and start earning immediately after completing the course. It is a short-term job-oriented course offered by most of the ITI institutes in different parts of the country.  The students can pursue the ITI Mechanic Motor Vehicle course after completing their class 10th examination from any recognised board. There are many private ITI and government ITI institutes that offer ITI Mechanic Motor Vehicle courses to students. While some institutes offer direct admission on the basis of merit only, many institutes conduct their own entrance examination to grant ITI admission in ITI Mechanic Motor. Students need to qualify these entrance examinations to be part of the courses offered by such institutes.

Mechanic Motor Vehicle is a vocational trade or course in ITI which is also popularly known as the Automobile Engineering trade in ITI. As mentioned earlier, the course deals with the study of repairing, overhauling, assembling, servicing, and testing skills of various types of vehicles such as cars, buses, trucks, motorcycles, scooters, etc. The duration of the course is two years in most institutes. During these two years, the students are trained both theoretically and practically in several mechanics of motor vehicles. They get special practical sessions for repairing vehicle Engines, Brakes, Suspension, Steering, etc.

The ITI in Mechanic Motor Vehicle course comes under the umbrella of the Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) which is constituted under the Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India. In the course, the candidates get to learn about Engine Tuning, Engine Inspection, Engine Assembly, Working of Engines, Cost Estimation, Automobile Electrical Systems, and many more.

Eligibility  

In order to get enrolled in the motor vehicle mechanic course, the applicants must fulfil some eligibility criteria that are mentioned below:

1. Applicants should have passed their class Xth exam from a recognised Board

2. Applicants should have compulsorily studied Science and Mathematics subjects at the qualifying level

3. Applicants should have at least secured 40% in aggregate at the qualifying level

Entrance Exams Details 

The ITI course in Mechanic Motor Vehicle (MMV), both at the Diploma and Certificate levels, generally does not have a mandatory entrance exam for admission. However, the admission process can vary depending on the state and the specific ITI.
