Admission Process

Some of the private universities like Christ University & GD Goenka School of Hospitality conduct their own entrance tests.

Few colleges also offer merit-based admissions on the basis of class 12th results like Manipal University.

BHM admissions are chiefly done on a merit basis. However, some of the institutes conduct their own entrance tests, often called aptitude tests. IIM eCHAT, UPSEE, etc. are some of the most common entrance tests that are conducted for the Bachelor of Hotel Management admission. Entrance-based and merit-based admission processes are described below:

BHM Entrance Exam-Based Admission

In the Entrance exam-based admission process, candidates need to appear in the institute-level entrance exam. Instead of conducting their own admission tests, some colleges accept the national-level entrance exam score based on which the colleges call the candidates for counselling sessions. A personal interview test and GD sessions are often conducted as the next rounds of admission. Based on these performances, a candidate is allowed for admission.

BHM Merit-Based Admission

In this process of admissions, colleges publish notifications making an application invitation. The willing candidates apply online though few colleges still receive offline applications. The filled-in application form comprises the details of the candidate’s academic and personal information. Reviewing the applications, scores of previous qualifying examinations, courses applied and the availability of seats against that course colleges prepare a merit list. Candidates then report to the college on a scheduled date for document verification. On the successful completion of document verification, final admission is confirmed.
