About Course 

ITI Draughtsman Civil is one of the most popular trade in ITI. It is a 2-year programme in the field of construction. The course is approved by National Council Vocational Training (NCVT). ITI Draughtsman Civil course is also called drafter and the syllabus is specially designed to provide a drawing of projects. The two-year course is divided into four semesters of six months each. The minimum eligibility criteria for ITI draughtsman civil course is 10th pass. Many private and government ITI institutes in India offer ITI draughtsman civil courses to the students.

ITI Draughtsman (Civil) is a skill-based course and vocational course as they provide both theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject. The ITI Draughtsman (Civil) is a 2-year vocational training program that deals with the study of various aspects of construction. The candidates in a 2-year duration will get to know many things about construction such as building planning, sketching, making blueprints using CAD, types of materials used in construction.

Draftsman, Surveyor and Land Surveyor jobs are available in the Central Government and State Government for students who complete the course.

After this course, the initial salary that most students have received is around  10000 per month.

If the student gets a government job, then he also gets around 15 thousand a month.

At the same time, if the student goes for an apprentice, then he gets five to  6000 months there.

Students do not need to panic after seeing this initial salary, they start getting good salary with experience.

Admission Process 

The admission process differs from institute to institute like some ITI institutes take direct admission without taking any entrance test where as some institutes take admission based on merit list or entrance examination. The applying process is exactly the same in all the methods. Candidates will have to fill out the application form and submit the same to the college.

There are three ways to get admission in ITI Draughtsman (Civil). 

1. Direct Admission- The majority of the private ITI institute take direct admission into ITI courses. The candidates can directly apply and get admission but they won’t get any benefits of scholarship as they don't have to give the entrance exam.

2. Merit and Management Quota – There are almost 30% seats reserved for the merit-based candidates and also for quota category seats for SC/ST/OBC/Defence service/Single girl child/EWS/BPL/Kashmiri migrants candidates. The respective institute release the merit list based on the score in the 10th examination.

3. AIE CET – The admission in this process depends on your results in the entrance examination. It is a national-level entrance examination. The candidates get a 100% scholarship through this exam. 70% of seats are reserved for the candidates who clear AIE CET in colleges like Puran Murti.
