About Course
BE stands for Bachelor of Engineering is a four-year undergraduate course that deals with the facets of the majority in engineering aspects of science and theoretical knowledge. This course can be pursued by the candidates after they complete their class 12 or equivalent from a recognized institute with PCM or PCB subjects.
Candidates are admitted to BE courses through direct admission, merit-based admission, and entrance exams. Some of the well-known entrance exams include JEE Main, JEE Advanced, KEAM, KLEEE, WBJEE, AP EAMCET, TS EAMCET, etc. After the successful completion of the course, candidates can join job roles such as Software Developer, Data Analyst, Database Administrator, IT System Manager, Software Engineer, etc. BE courses can be pursued at the top colleges such as IIT Hyderabad, BITS, Pilani, VIT University, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, etc. The BE course fee ranges from INR 50, 000 to 2,00,000 annually.

Eligibility
The eligibility criteria required for admission to BE are as follows -
Minimum Qualification Required for the Candidates to apply in BE: Interested candidates should pass class 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board
Minimum Aggregate Marks Required for the Candidates to apply in BE: Interested candidates should secure at least 50% marks in aggregate. The minimum marks secured by the candidate can be as high as 70% depending on college-to-college
Age Limit that the candidates should maintain while applying for BE courses: Few colleges and entrance exams can have a restriction on age for all the aspirants who aspire to take admission in BE courses. Candidates should be at least 18 years of age. The maximum age of the candidate counted from the date of the examination should not be more than 24 years of age
Note: Original copies of all necessary and important documents along with the mark sheets of the candidates have to be carried on the time of admission at the chosen college or university that the candidate is interested in.
Entrance Exams Details
There are various entrance exams in India, subdivided into national, state level, and university levels for the benefit of the candidates. The national-level Bachelor of Engineering entrance exams are- JEE Main, JEE Advanced state-level Bachelor of Engineering exams include WBJEE, MHT CET, AP EAMCET, and university level exams include- BITSAT, VITEEE, and SRMJEEE. JEE Main
The Joint Entrance Examination is conducted by NTA or the national testing agency of India. It is conducted for admissions in NIT, IIITs, GFTIs, and other top institutions all over India.
JEE Advanced
The JEE Advanced is conducted for admissions in IITs or the Indian Institute of Technologies. Candidates who come under the ranks of 2.5 Lakhs are eligible to apply and sit for JEE Advanced.
WBJEE
WBJEE is conducted by the West Bengal joint entrance examination board. It is conducted for admissions in undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering courses.
MHT CET
The MHT CET is conducted by the state common entrance test cell of Maharashtra. The exam is conducted on the basis of class 11 and class 12 syllabi.
AP EAMCET
The Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, Medical, common entrance test or AP EAMCET is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada for admission into Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical.
BITSAT
BITSAT is conducted by the Birla Institute of Technology and Science -Pilani for students who are interested in taking admissions in the Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses.
VITEEE
VIT is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology for candidates who are interested in taking admissions for the Vellore and the Chennai campus.
KCET
Karnataka Common Entrance Test or KGUCET is the entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka government for admissions into under graduate courses.
SRMJEEE
SRMJEEE is conducted by SRM University for candidates willing to take admissions in Bachelor of Engineering for various campuses. Admissions are taken on the basis of entrance exams and merit and the seats are allotted on the choice filling and merit.

Admission Process
To get admission in engineering, below are the sequence of steps that have to be followed by the candidates before applying for BE courses.
1. The entrance exams are conducted by the authorities mostly in April, May, and June every year.
2. Candidates in order to be admitted to BE have to appear for an entrance exam.
3. There are various national levels entrance exams such as JEE Main, which is accepted by NITs, and GFTIs.
4. JEE Advanced is conducted and accepted exclusively by IITs.
5. There are other state-level exams such as WBJEE, AP EAMCET, TS EAMCET, KEAM, and MHT CET. Other university-based entrance exams such as VITEEE, SRMJEEE, BITSAT, UPESEAT, etc.
6. After the results are declared, the steps that are followed are counseling of the students, and the seat allotment process has been conducted by the concerned authorities.
