About Course 

Bachelor of Ayurveda Medical & Surgery (BAMS) is a 5-year-6-month undergraduate program that offers an integrated course and covers a wide range of subjects of traditional Ayurveda and modern medical systems. The program comprises a one-year mandatory internship. Aspirants must have passed class 12 to pursue BAMS studies. After graduating from the Bachelor of Ayurveda Medical & Surgery course, aspirants gain expertise in the field of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic medicine. Aspirants have to appear for the BAMS entrance exam to get admission into the course. Some states conduct their own exams such as KEAM  to grant admission into the programme.​​​​​​​

Recognition: Completing a medical degree course is no easy feat and BAMS is equivalent to MBBS. A BAMS graduate is accepted in most of the renowned medical hospitals and the government of India allows them to open up their own clinic.

Eligibility  

Minimum Educational Qualification Required: 10+2 or equivalent examination with Science (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) as mandatory subjects.

Minimum Marks Required: 50% to 60%, varies from college to college.

Age Limit: The age limit for the BAMS program is 20 years for the general category and 24 years for the reserved category.

2. The examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) every year.

Admission Process 

1. BAMS admissions in India are done on the basis of entrance exams.
