Sentence Correction | This section measures two broad aspects of the candidates’ language proficiency. |
IMPORTANT
The Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning sections of the GMAT are computer-adaptive, meaning the difficulty of the test tailors itself in real-time to your ability level. This feature allows the exam to assess your potential with a higher degree of precision and deliver scores that business schools trust.
Here’s how it works: The first question you receive in either the Verbal or Quantitative sections will be of medium difficulty. As you answer each question, the computer scores your answer and uses it as well as your responses to any preceding question to select the next question. If you answer the first question correctly, the computer will usually give you a harder question. If you answer the first question incorrectly, your next question will be easier. This process continues until you complete the section, using responses to all previously answered questions, at which point the computer will have and accurate assessment of your ability in that subject.
You will not be able to skip, return to, or change your answers to questions. This is because the computer uses your response to each question to select the next one.

GRADUATE MANAGEMENT ADMISSION TEST (GMAT) 2022
The GMAT is a computer-adaptive test that assesses the candidates’ analytical writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in standard written English. The cost of giving the GMAT Exam is US $275. This test is taken to get admission into a graduate management program, such as MBA and Masters in Finance-related courses in top business schools across the world.
GMAT 2022 EXAMINATION : STUDY PLAN
The only deciding factor for the selection or rejection of a candidate is the Strategy & Planning which is used by them for their preparation for the GMAT 2022 Examination. A good and result-oriented Strategy & Planning for the examination will definitely allow the candidates to make their way through GMAT 2022 Examination.
10 Week GMAT Study Schedule
Week 1: Arithmetic and Critical Reasoning (CR)
Refresh all core arithmetic content areas (calculations, percents, ratios, factors/multiples) and apply that knowledge to specific collections of official problems testing the same content area. Completing large batches of problems within one content area is essential for learning all the different wrinkles and strategies associated with that type.
Learn important strategies for critical reasoning questions and apply them to a collection of official problems.
Week 2: Algebra and Reading Comprehension (RC)
Refresh all core algebra content areas (calculations, inequalities, exponents/roots, quadratics, common algebraic equations) and apply that knowledge to specific collections of official problems testing the same content area.
Learn important strategies for reading comprehension and apply them to a collection of official passages and questions.
Week 3: Word Problems and Sentence Correction (SC)
Learn strategies and best practices for attacking the common word problems used on the GMAT. It is essential that you master these word problems, because they are part of almost every test: Venn Diagram, Work/Rate and Distance/Rate, Mixture, Weighted Average, Conversion, etc.
Sentence Correction problems require a mastery of the core underlying grammar AND good strategy. After a thorough initial grammar review, it is best to learn the grammar through doing problems, rather than in a vacuum.
Week 4: Geometry/Statistics and SC
Use this week to focus on the “secondary” but more difficult quant content areas of geometry and statistics. Make sure you are rock solid on all important geometry formulas and relationships and learn essential strategies for attacking complicated geometry problems.
Do another week of sentence correction problems, focusing on both grammar and strategy. To succeed in sentence correction, it is essential that you do a lot of practice problems so that you have seen a majority of the commonly tested grammar scenarios.
Week 5: Data Sufficiency and CR/RC Review
Do a large collection of data sufficiency questions and learn how to apply optimal strategies to this complicated question type. Most students do not properly leverage the numerous hints present in DS questions, so it is essential that you learn best practices for this fundamental quant question type.
Week 6: Timed Question Sets + Quant Diagnostic + Practice Test
Do the first of the three 24-question quant diagnostic tests in the official quantitative practice bundle. Do the first official practice test.
Week 7: Timed Question Sets + Quant Diagnostic + Practice Test
Using the official resources (official practice questions 1 + 2 and the supplement guides) do 3 to 4 timed sets of medium and hard questions: 31-question sets for quant ( 1/2 problem solving and 1/2 data sufficiency) and 36-question verbal sets (roughly 1/3rd of each type).
Week 8: Review Weak Areas
Use your results from the previous two weeks of timed sets and tests to determine weak areas and do a deep dive back into those question types and content areas. Maybe on the quant side you find that questions testing inequalities, work/rate scenarios, factors and multiples, and geometry are causing problems.
Week 9: Timed Question Sets + Quant Diagnostic + Practice Test
Using the official resources (official practice questions 1 + 2 and the supplement guides) do 3 to 4 timed sets of medium and hard questions: 31-question sets for quant ( 1/2 problem solving and 1/2 data sufficiency) and 36-question verbal sets (roughly 1/3rd of each type).
Week 10: Advanced Timed Question Sets + Practice Test + Official Test
Using the Advanced Question Book online bank, do 3 to 4 timed sets of hard questions: 31-question sets for quant ( 1/2 problem solving and 1/2 data sufficiency) and 36-question verbal sets (roughly 1/3rd of each type).
GMAT 2022 EXAMINATION : TIPS & TRICKS
1. Decide on your target Quant and Verbal scores : This brings me to my next point – how do you leverage your strength and more importantly how would you determine what your strength is? If you are taking the GMAT for the first time you will know your relative strength by taking a Diagnostic Test. A good diagnostic test will tell you your percentile scores in each section. The section in which you have a higher percentile score and you feel more confident about is your relative strength.
2. Estimate the amount of time you need : For example, your estimate is 150 hours then you need to plan these 150 hours in the first two months i.e. at least 75 hours every month. Depending upon your work schedule you can plan these hours on weekdays or weekends. One hour on weekdays and 6 hours on weekends result in 70 hours of study in a month.
3. Create the Sequence of Study : Once you plan your study hours, you must block them off on your calendar so that you do not plan other activities then and you can keep up with your schedule. Now that you have the required amount of time set aside, you must use it wisely. We recommend starting with the section which is your relative strength. The reason being, it will be easier for you to improve and it will set a good momentum for the rest of your preparation.
4. Take Mock Tests and Review your GMAT Preparation : Taking mock tests would be effective only if you review them and make the most of every test that you solve. Otherwise, you can take any number of mocks and not see a significant improvement.
