CUSAT CAT Exam 2024 - Latest Update
CUSAT CAT 2024 date has been announced by Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). As per the latest update, CUSAT CAT 2024 exam will be conducted on 10th to 12th May 2024.
Humanities, Law, Marine Sciences, Medical Sciences & Technology, Science, Social Sciences and Technology. The University also conducts the Lateral Entry Test (LET) and Department Admission Test (DAT).
CUSAT was initially constituted as the University of Cochin through an Act of the Kerala Government on 10th July 1971. The University of Cochin was re-constituted as Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in February 1986, redefining its objectives as "promoting Graduate and Post Graduate studies and Advanced Research in Applied Sciences, Technology, Industry, Commerce, Management and Social Sciences.

CUSAT CAT Exam 2024: Who can apply
Candidates willing to apply for CUSAT CAT 2024 Examination are required to fulfil certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities.
The candidate’s eligibility for CUSAT CAT 2024 Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:-
1. Nationality
2. Age Limit & Relaxations
3. Educational Qualifications
Nationality
1. Applicant must be an Indian citizen.
2. Also, applicants from Kerala, applying within the state quota must submit domicile documents to confirm the same.
3. For the rest of the programmes, foreign candidates can also apply. They will need to share NRI documents in order to apply for the same.
4. Any Indian Citizen /Overseas Citizen of India /Person of Indian Origin is eligible to apply for NRI seats.
Age Limit
1. The examination conducting authority has given an age limit for some specific programmes.
2. For those applicants applying for B.Tech Marine Engineering Programme, the maximum age limit is 25 years as of September of the current year.
Education Qualification

BTech in Marine Engineering
1. Secured 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the Class 12 or equivalent from Kerala Board or any other recognized Board.
2. Studied in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English in the qualifying examination.
3. Secured minimum 50% in the English subject either in Class 10 or in Class 12 (applicable to all the categories).
4. Candidates have to submit physical fitness and eye fitness certificate as well. The certificate should be obtained from Medical Examiners and approved by DG Shipping.
BTech in Naval Architecture & Ship Building
1. Scored 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the Class 12 examination or equivalent from Kerala Board or any other recognized Board.
2. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics should be the compulsory subjects along with the other subjects in the qualifying examination.
3. Obtain 50% in the Mathematics subject.
4. Must have scored 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics when taken together.
BTech in Instrumentation & Technology
1. Obtained 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics when taken together in the qualifying examination.
2. Obtain 55% in the Mathematics subject.
BTech in Polymer Science & Engineering
1. Passed Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as an optional subject or any other equivalent examination with 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized Board.
2. Secured 50% in the Mathematics subject.

Application Process
The application process is online. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can only fill out the application form. The application process involves several steps, such as registration, completing the application form, uploading the required documents, and paying the fee.

Step 7. Select Course Candidates should select the programme or combination of programmes from the dropdown list with utmost care in the CUSAT application form . Now proceed for the final payment. The payment can be made by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets. On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated. And click on the submit button.
Step 8. Centre selection After successful completion of payment, the list of available centres will be displayed. The candidate should select one of the test centres where seats are available. Take out the printout for future purposes.

CUSAT CAT Exam 2024: Scheme of Exam
1. CUSAT CAT 2024 will contain around 150 questions for all major courses except engineering.
2. The engineering exam will contain 250 questions and the exam for Lateral entry students will contain 200 questions the exam will be conducted for 3 hours.
3. Each question will be allotted 3 marks for the correct answer and for every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted.
4. Questions will be framed as per the syllabus and equal weightage will be given to all topics.

CUSAT CAT Exam 2024: Syllabus
The exam conducting authority i.e Cochin University of Science and Technology does not release any syllabus for CUSAT CAT officially. However, the CUSAT CAT syllabus will be based on the 12th state board syllabus. It is important for all applicants to check the syllabus of CUSAT CAT to prepare for the examination. All of the sections and topics from which the examination questions will be created will be based on the syllabus.
For Physics: Laws of Motion, Motion In A Plane, Thermodynamics, Thermal Properties Of Matter, Gravitation, Oscillations or etc.
For Chemistry: Biomolecules, Polymers, Chemistry In Everyday Life, Aldehydes, Ketones And Carboxylic Acids, Alcohols, Phenols, And Ethers, Electrochemistry or etc.
For Mathematics: Probability, Trigonometric Functions, Application of Integrals, Permutations And Combinations, Conic Sections, Straight Lines, Statistics or etc.
CUSAT CAT 2024: Admission to the Examination Centres
1. The Examination Centre will be opened two hours before the commencement of the test. Therefore, candidates must ensure that they leave home well in advance considering all facts like traffic, location of the Centre, weather conditions, etc. Candidates are expected to take their seats immediately after the opening of the Examination Hall.
2. The candidate must show, on-demand, the Admit Card for admission in the Examination Hall. A candidate who does not possess a valid Admit Card shall not be allowed to enter the Examination Hall by the Centre Superintendent.
3. A seat with a roll number will be allotted to each candidate. Candidates must find out and occupy their allotted seats. If a candidate is found appearing in the Examination from a seat or room other than the allotted one, the candidature shall be cancelled.
4. During the examination time, the Invigilator will check Admit Card of the candidates to ascertain the identity of each candidate. The Invigilators will also put their own signature in the place provided in the Answer Sheet and on the Attendance Sheet.
5. A candidate who comes late shall not be permitted to enter the Examination Centre under any circumstances.
6. Candidates are not allowed to bring any barred item or any item which could be used for Unfair practices. Possession of any such article with the candidates inside the Centre premises will attract the penalties of unfair practices.
CUSAT CAT Exam 2024: Admit Card
The candidates after the successful completion of the registration process will be able to download the CUSAT CAT 2024 Admit Card from the university website. Candidates need to follow the steps to download admit card of CUSAT 2024 exam:
Step 1. Visit the official website of CUSAT
Step 2. Click on the ‘Careers’ link given under the ‘Miscellaneous’ section at the bottom.
Step 3. Click on the CUSAT Admit card link.
Step 4. Login with your registration ID and password.
Step 5. Download the CUSAT admit card.
Step 6. Take two print out of the CUSAT admit card for future reference.
CUSAT CAT Exam 2024: Result
Candidates need to follow the steps below to check the result of the CUSAT 2024 exam:

Step 3. Enter your roll number, date of birth, and date of exam
Step 4. The CUSAT CAT 2024 Result will be displayed along with course choice and rank
Step 5. Download and keep a copy of the same for future references.
CUSAT CAT Exam 2024: Counselling Process
The counseling of CUSAT CAT 2024 will start tentatively in the third week of May 2024. To participate in CUSAT CAT 2024 counseling, candidates need to get registered (Option Registration) and exercise choice filling; during the process, candidates have to fill in their choice of college and branch.
The Counselling of CUSAT CAT 2024 will be done as per the merit list of CUSAT CAT 2024, with candidates ranked higher in the list getting preference over those ranked lower. The seat allotment of CUSAT CAT 2024 will be conducted online, based on the options entered by the candidate and his/her merit rank. Post seat allotment, candidates need to report at the allotted institute within the prescribed time and date.
