This exam is conducted in three stages which includes GAT, CAT and Interaction. The three stages of the examination have been explained here in the exact format that would be given in the exam pattern.
Stage I: General Aptitude Test (GAT)
The first stage for the AIEED exam which all the candidates have to go through is the General Ability Test (GAT). If they qualify the first stage then only they can appear for the second stage.
This exam is based on the online submission of videos or portfolios. It will consist of 60 questions worth 100 marks. The exam duration will be of 2 hours.

This is the second stage of the AIEED which is conducted for the applicants who successfully clear the first stage. Creative Ability Test (CAT) is conducted in Online Mode. The exam will consist of 50 questions and complete within 3 hours The total marks will be 200.

Candidates willing to apply for AIEED Examination are required to fulfill certain conditions to be eligible for it. The candidate who does not satisfy the Eligibility criteria like Age, Minimum educational qualification etc., their candidature shall be rejected by the authorities.
The criteria for eligibility are decided by the conduction body itself. The candidate’s eligibility for AIEED Examination is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:-
1-AIEED : Nationality
2- AIEED : Age Limit & Relaxations
3- AIEED : Educational Qualifications
AIEED EXAM NATIONALITY
1- Citizen of India, or
2- A subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
3- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
AIEED EXAM AGE LIMIT & RELAXATIONS
1- Candidates should have attained the age of 16 years and above, as per Pearson-Edexcel norms applicable to all International Undergraduate level course.
2- The applicants appearing for PG Design courses have to complete 21 years of age as the lower limit, are eligible for the Strategic Management & Leadership Programme as well as the Design Management Programmes.
AIEED EXAM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
AIEED Eligibility Criteria for Graduation
The applicants who wish to appear for the AIEED in order to pursue undergraduate courses would be able to appear only if they satisfy the following eligibility criteria.
1- Students who have Appeared for/ or Cleared Class 10+2 (CBSE/ICSE/IB/State Board/NIOS or equivalent as per UGC Guidelines) are eligible to participate in the AIEED Screening for Design Studies.
2- Class 10+1 Students can also write AIEED,and qualifying students will be eligible for direct admission in the academic year after clearing the interaction and PoA stage.
AIEED Eligibility Criteria for Post Graduation
The candidates who wish to do post-graduation courses through AIEED must be able to satisfy the required eligibility criteria:
1- Graduates or students pursuing graduation in any discipline from a recognised university can apply for this programme.
2- Students who have done 2 years or 3 years diploma course in design are also eligible for Advance Level Courses.
Note: Reservation of seats under various quotas (SC, ST, Defence, Physically Challenged, NRI, etc.) will be as per the norms and regulations of the institutions. The disclosure of the seats will be done at time of admission process.

Arch College of Design and Business conducts the All India Entrance Examination for Design (AIEED) to offer admissions to its undergraduate as well as postgraduate design programmes. The exam is held in three stages/ phases - Stage I (General Aptitude Test or GAT ), Stage II (Creative Aptitude Test or CAT) and Stage III (Personal Interaction).
AIEED EXAMINATION TIPS & TRICKS
Stage 1: GAT (General Aptitude Test)
To prepare well for the General Aptitude Test at AIEED follow the pointers enlisted below.
1- Take as many mock tests as possible.
2- Identify the weak topics that require more practice and work on them.
3- Pick up books with reliable publishers and authors.
4- Stay connected with current happenings and general affairs.
5- Keep a close eye on the news on print media and digital media.
6- Solve the previous year’s question papers and sample papers regularly.
7- Set the timer and practise managing the time.
8- Stay aware of design-related affairs and global issues.
Stage 2: CAT (Creative Aptitude Test)
Here are all the tips on the Creative Aptitude Test that an individual can consider in order to score well in the exam.
1- Work on enhancing verbal and written skills.
2- Read a lot of books and try to go through the work of the top designers.
3- Practice a lot of Lateral thinking & Creative problem-solving questions.
4- Awareness of design-related principles and basic concepts is the must.
5- Revisit the last year’s question papers and try to understand the pattern and the nature of the questions.
Stage 3: Personal Interaction Round
To crack the personal interaction round make sure to follow the pointers mentioned below.
1- Keep all the documents and portfolio ready with your best piece of work.
2- Do not make the portfolio too bulky. Focus on the quality of work rather than quantity of work.
3- Try making your portfolio appealing and add your most cherished and best work in the beginning. If required, do the last minute changes on the portfolio. Check out the Importance of Portfolio for Admission in Design Courses and get to know more about it.
4- Do proper research before the interview and try to know everything about the previous year’s interviews.
5- Confidence is the key and it only builds after an aspirant has prepared well and fully for the interview round.

What is the portfolio? | Portfolio needs to be shared with the conducting authority in prior. A Portfolio is the visiting card of the candidate. It is a collection of any previous creative work done by the candidate. This includes illustrations, photographs, sketches, essays, prose etc, even films & slideshows that can be shown on a mobile phone. Basically, a portfolio shows the candidate’s interests and abilities. |
What is the mode AIEED Result declaration? | The AIEED Result will be declared through online mode only. The results are declared after seven days of the examination. |

Stage 1: GAT (General Aptitude Test)
To prepare well for the General Aptitude Test at AIEED follow the pointers enlisted below.
1- Take as many mock tests as possible.
2- Identify the weak topics that require more practice and work on them.
3- Pick up books with reliable publishers and authors.
4- Stay connected with current happenings and general affairs.

Stage 2: CAT (Creative Aptitude Test)
Here are all the tips on the Creative Aptitude Test that an individual can consider in order to score well in the exam.
1- Work on enhancing verbal and written skills.
2- Read a lot of books and try to go through the work of the top designers.
3- Practice a lot of Lateral thinking & Creative problem-solving questions.
4- Awareness of design-related principles and basic concepts is the must.
5- Revisit the last year’s question papers and try to understand the pattern and the nature of the questions.
Stage 3: Personal Interaction Round
To crack the personal interaction round make sure to follow the pointers mentioned below.
1- Keep all the documents and portfolio ready with your best piece of work.
2- Do not make the portfolio too bulky. Focus on the quality of work rather than quantity of work.

2- Application form – Now, the candidates will have to login with the registered login credentials. Fill the personal details, educational details, as per the required details in the tabs of AIEED application form.
3- Submission of fees – After completing the application form, the candidates will have to submit the requisite fees of Rs.3000 /- on the official website via Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / Demand Draft for Bank of India etc.
4- Documents upload – Now upload the necessary documents (signature of the candidate, photo of the candidate, mark sheets of the qualifying exam, id proof) as per the prescribed size and formats provided at the official website.

AIEED COUNSELLING PROCEDURE

The portfolio acts as a visiting card for the candidates, wherein they speak of their interests, and abilities. 3- Skype Interview: It is imperative for the candidate to be present for the Skype Interview on the scheduled date and time. In case they are found missing, then the candidate will be marked absent.

Undergraduate (UG) Level Courses
(i) Students who have Appeared for/ or Cleared Class 10+2 (CBSE/ICSE/IB/State Board/NIOS or equivalent as per UGC Guidelines) are eligible to participate in the AIEED Screening for Design Studies.
(ii) Class 10+1 Students can also write AIEED 2023, and qualifying students will be eligible for direct admission in the academic year 2024 after clearing the interaction and PoA stage.
Postgraduate Level Courses
Graduates or students pursuing graduation in any discipline from a recognised university can apply for this course.
Age Limit
1- Candidates should have attained the age of 16 years and above, as per Pearson-Edexcel norms applicable to all International Undergraduate level courses.
2- The applicants appearing for PG Design courses have to complete 21 years of age as the lower limit, are eligible for the Strategic Management & Leadership Programme as well as the Design Management Programmes.

AIEED 2023: Scheme of Exam
1. General Aptitude Test (GAT) is conducted in online mode.
2. It will consist of 60 questions worth 100 marks
3. The exam duration will be of 2 hours.
5. Creative Aptitude Test (CAT) is also conducted in Online Mode.
6. The exam will consist of 50 questions and complete within 3 hours
7. The total marks will be 200.
9. Video, Portfolio and Personal Interaction exam will be 30 minutes worth of 200 marks.
10. The candidates have to introduce themselves and meet the interviewer through Skype.
11. There is no negative marking for all the stages of AIEED exam.

AIEED 2023: Admission to the Examination Centres
1. It is important for the candidate to reach the centre one hour before prior to the exam. It is necessary to reach well on time to avoid the last-minute rush.
2. Candidate should complete the document verification process before starting the examination.
3. Candidates would be allowed to enter the examination hall only through the Admit Card and the photo ID proof of the candidate. These are the important documents that candidate should carry when appearing for the examination.
4. Along with the Admit Card and Photo Id proof, Candidate should also carry the recent coloured passport size photograph to the examination hall.
