Selection Criteria

• It is a two-step process. One needs to qualify the JEE Main exam and then take the JEE Advanced exam.
• One must have secured at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD) in Class XII OR One must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile in his/her respective Class XII board examination.
• Admissions are done on the basis of rank in JEE Advanced through JoSAA Counselling

Prerequisite: B.E./B.Tech. / M.Sc. or equivalent with (a) CGPA 6.00 on a 10 point scale or 60% marks in aggregate for General/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS Category with valid GATE score. *B.Tech. from IITs with CGPA of 8.00 without GATE are also eligible for admission.

Selection Criteria: GATE and Written test and /or interview. (The Centralized Counseling for M.Tech./ M.Arch./ M.Plan./M.Des. (CCMT) is a platform for candidates to apply for M.Tech./ M.Arch./ M.Plan./M.Des. programs, based on their GATE score)

Selection Criteria: On the Basis of JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) is an all-India examination conducted across the country jointly by the Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institute of Science. JAM is an all India Entrance examination for admission to M.Sc. (Two Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor's Degree programs at the IITs and to the Integrated Ph.D. programs at IISc.)

Prerequisite:

• At least 55% aggregate marks or 5.5 CGPA/CPI out of 10 without rounding-of (taking into account all subjects including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) for General/ OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS category candidates (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) in the qualifying degree. For Candidates with letter grades / CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks is decided by the Admitting Institute(s).
• For M.Sc. (Chemistry) Bachelor’s degree with Chemistry as a subject for three years/six semesters and Mathematics at (10+2) level. For M.Sc. (Mathematics), Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as a subject for at least two years/four semesters. For M.Sc. (Physics), Bachelor’s degree with Physics as a subject for two years / four semesters and Mathematics for at least one year/two semesters.

Master degree in Engineering / Technology or master's degree in Science / Humanities or equivalent in relevant discipline with CGPA 6.00 on 10 point scale or 60% marks in aggregate for General / OBC / EWS category. Full-time students who do not possess M.Tech. or equivalent degree is required to have a valid GATE score or UGC / CSIR / DBT / ICMR / INSPIRE fellowship examination for Sciences / Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines.

Or 

B.Tech. or equivalent with CGPA of 7.0 on a 10 point scale or 70% aggregate marks and qualified GATE or UGC / CSIR / DBT / ICMR / INSPIRE fellowship examination for Biomedical Engg., candidates having M.B.B.S. with 60% marks or more are eligible provided they have qualified ICMR. The Candidates having a Postgraduate degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) / Master in Surgery (MS) with 60% marks or more after MBBS will also be eligible for admission to Ph.D. Programme in CBME.

Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) Research programs are a vital part of the research community at IIT Bhubaneswar. Like most of India's premier engineering, science, and management institutes, IIT Bhubaneswar too offers scope for researchers to further enhance their academic enterprise and contribute effectively to their respective domains. There are scholars working across all academic disciplines and also on research projects within the institute's various centers and labs to pursue additional research and training in order to acquire adequate skills to achieve a career in academia, R&D institutes at various companies, and reputed labs, in the country and abroad.

Prerequisite: Consistently good academic record followed by a Ph.D. degree in the relevant fields in Engineering/Science/Humanities. Only those candidates, who have received the Ph. D. degree within the past two years will be considered.

Selection: The candidate called for interview shall make a presentation of his/her research plan before a selection committee.

Fellowship: Rs.45,000 - Rs.55,000 p.m. + HRA
