About Career
As a Physical Education Teacher, you will be instructing students about the fundamentals of sports, foundations of physical education, physical training, discipline and various types of sports. You will be involved in coaching and developing your students to make them fitter and training them physically.
You will have to communicate with your students through physical demonstrations, games, or various exercises. You may have to arrange participation and team building activities for your students and ensure all the students are equally involved. You will also be involved in organizing and planning annual drills or other sports activities.
Key Roles And Responsibilities:
As a Physical Education Teacher, you will be engaged with one or more of the following roles and responsibilities: -
1. You will be instructing students about the fundamentals of sports, foundations of physical education, physical training, discipline and various types of sports.
2. You will be communicating with your students by demonstrating techniques and methods of participation or through games, various exercises etc.
3. You will also be explaining and enforcing safety rules and regulations.
4. You will be observing and evaluating your students through class competitions or games in order to prepare their performance reports.
5. You may have to arrange participation and team building activities for your students and ensure all the students are equally involved.
6. You will be involved in organizing and planning annual drills or other sports activities.
7. You may have to interact with the guardians of your students to keep them informed about any particular physical issues their wards may be facing.
8. You will have to coordinate with your colleagues (other teachers, principal and staff members) and participate in discussions and meetings regarding overall curriculum development, annual sports meet, training workshops, teacher recruitment etc.

Class 10 all subjects as per scheme of studies – D. P. Ed / C. P. Ed
After completing Class 10 all subjects as per scheme of studies, you can go for a Diploma in Physical Education (D. P. Ed.) or Certificate in Physical Education (C. P. Ed). These courses are usually 2 year programs.
Class 10 all subjects as per scheme of studies - Class 11-12 with any subject as per scheme of studies – Bachelor degree in any discipline - C. P. Ed
After completing Class 11-12 with any subject as per scheme of studies, you can go for a Bachelor degree in any discipline. Then to specialize in physical education you can go for a Certificate in Physical Education (C. P. Ed) course. These courses are usually 2 year programs.
Class 10 all subjects as per scheme of studies - Class 11-12 with any subject as per scheme of studies – B. P. Ed
After completing Class 11-12 with any subject as per scheme of studies, you can go for a Bachelor of Physical Education (B. P. Ed) degree from any institution across the country. You can get admitted to a B. P. Ed course in some colleges without doing your graduation in any other discipline.
Class 10 all subjects as per scheme of studies - Class 11-12 with any subject as per scheme of studies – Bachelor degree in any discipline - B. P. Ed
After completing Class 11-12 with any subject as per scheme of studies, you can go for a Bachelor degree in any discipline. Then you can go for a Bachelor of Physical Education (B. P. Ed) degree from any institution across the country. This is usually a 2 year program. Some colleges want you to complete your graduation before you can go for a B. P. Ed course.
Class 10 all subjects as per scheme of studies - Class 11-12 with any subject as per scheme of studies or C. P. Ed – Integrated B. P. Ed
After completing Class 11-12 with any subject as per scheme of studies or a Certificate in Physical Education (C. P. Ed) course. Then you are eligible to pursue an integrated Bachelor of Physical Education (B. P. Ed) course which typically lasts for 4 years.
