Future Prospects
According to the latest IBEF (India Brand Equity Foundation) reports, India is the third-largest producer and exporter of coffee in Asia, accounting for 3.30% (2017-18) of global coffee production. With the expansion of the coffee industry, employment opportunities will continue to grow. However, due to various problems in tea gardens and the reduced profits of the plantation companies, this sector faces negative prospects over the next few years. However, due to an increase in coffee exports from India, the situation may improve over 3-5 years and thereafter.
