Unit I: Mathematical Tools
Function, Limit of Function, Simple ideas of differentiation integration, differentiation of xn , eax , sinx by ab-initio method, integartion of xn , sinx and cosx, simple idea of definite integral.
Unit II: Physical World and Measurement
Physics-scope and excitement; nature of physical laws; Physics, technology and society.
Need for measurement: Units of measurement; systems of units; SI units, fundamental and derived units. Length, mass and time measurements;accuracy and precision of Measuring instruments; errors in measurement;significant figures.
Dimensions of physical quantities, dimensional analysis and its applications.
Unit III: Kinematics
Frame of reference, Motion in a straight line: Position-time graph, speed and velocity.
Elementary concepts of differentiation and integration for describing motion, uniform and non- uniform motion, average speed and instantaneous velocity, uniformly accelerated Motion, velocity-time and position-time graphs.
Relations for uniformly accelerated motion (graphical treatment).
Scalar and vector quantities; position and displacement vectors, general vectors and their notations; equality of vectors, multiplication of vectors by a Real number; addition and subtraction of vectors, relative velocity, Unit vector;resolution of a vector in a plane, rectangular components, Scalar and Vector product of vectors.

Unit IV: Laws of Motion
Intuitive concept of force, Inertia, Newton's first law of motion; momentum and Newton's second law of motion; impulse; Newton's third law of motion.
Law of conservation of linear momentum and its applications.
Equilibrium of concurrent forces, Static and kinetic friction, laws of friction, rolling friction, lubrication.
Dynamics of uniform circular motion: Centripetal force, examples of circular motion (vehicle on a level circular road, vehicle on a banked road).
Unit V: Work, Energy and Power
Work done by a constant force and a variable force; kinetic energy, work-energy theorem, power.
Motion of potential energy, potential energy of a spring, conservative Forces:conservation of mechanical energy (kinetic and potential energies); non-conservative forces: motion in a vertical circle; elastic and inelastic collisions in one and two dimensions.
Unit VI: Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body
Centre of mass of a two-particle system, momentum conservation and centre of mass motion. Centre of mass of a rigid body; centre of mass of a uniform rod. Moment of a force, Torque, angular momentum, law of conservation of angular momentum and its applications.
Equilibrium of rigid bodies, rigid body rotation and equations of rotational motion, Comparison of linear and rotational motions.
Moment of inertia, radius of gyration, values of moments of inertia for simple geometrical objects (no derivation). Statement of parallel and perpendicular axes theorems and their applications.
Unit VII: Gravitation
Kepler's laws of planetary motion, universal law of gravitation. Acceleration due to gravity and its variation with altitude and depth.
Gravitational potential energy and gravitational potential, escape velocity, orbital velocity of a satellite, Geo-stationary satellites.
Unit VIII: Properties of Bulk Matter
Elastic behaviour, Stress-strain relationship, Hooke's law, Young's modulus, bulk modulus, shear modulus of rigidity, Poisson's ratio; elastic energy.
Pressure due to a fluid column; Pascal's law and its applications (hydraulic lift and hydraulic brakes), effect of gravity on fluid pressure.
Viscosity, Stokes' law, terminal velocity, streamline and turbulent flow, critical velocity, Bernoulli's theorem and its applications.
Surface energy and surface tension, angle of contact, excess of pressure across a curved surface, application of surface tension ideas to drops, bubbles and capillary rise.
Heat, temperature, thermal expansion; thermal expansion of solids, liquids and gases, anomalous expansion of water; specific heat capacity; Cp, Cv -calorimetry; change of state - latent heat capacity.
Heat transfer-conduction, convection and radiation, thermal conductivity, qualitative ideas of Blackbody radiation, Wein's displacement Law, Stefan's law, Greenhouse effect.
Unit IX: Thermodynamics
Thermal equilibrium and definition of temperature (zeroth law of thermodynamics), heat, work and internal energy. First law of thermodynamics, isothermal and adiabatic processes.
Second law of thermodynamics: reversible and irreversible processes, heat engine and refrigerator.
Unit X: Behaviour of Perfect Gases and Kinetic Theory of Gases
Equation of state of a perfect gas, work done in compressing a gas.
Kinetic theory of gases - assumptions, concept of pressure. Kinetic interpretation of temperature; rms speed of gas molecules; degrees of freedom, law of equi-partition of energy (statement only) and application to specific heat capacities of gases; concept of mean free path, Avogadro's number.
Unit XI: Oscillations and Waves
Periodic motion - time period, frequency, displacement as a function of time, periodic functions.
Simple harmonic motion (S.H.M) and its equation; phase; oscillations of a loaded spring- restoring force and force constant; energy in S.H.M. Kinetic and potential energies; simple pendulum derivation of expression for its time period. Free, forced and damped oscillations (qualitative ideas only), resonance.
Wave motion: Transverse and longitudinal waves, speed of travelling wave, displacement relation for a progressive wave, principle of superposition of waves, reflection of waves, standing waves in strings and organ pipes, fundamental mode and harmonics, Beats, Doppler effect.

PRACTICALS
Time Allowed: Three hours
Max. Marks: 30
Every student is required to perform a minimum of 10 experiments and 8 activities.
Experiments
- Use of Vernier Calipers.
- Use of screw gauge.
- To determine the radius of curvature of a given spherical surface by a spherometer.
- To find the weight of a given body using parallelogram law of vectors.
- Using a simple pendulum plot L-T graph hence find acceleraton due to gravity (g)
- To study the relationship between force of limiting friction and normal reaction and to find the co- efficient of friction between a block and a horizontal surface.
- To find the downward force, along an inclined plane, acting on a roller due to gravitational pull of the earth and study its relationship with the angle of inclination theta by plotting graph between force and sin theta.
Activities
- To make a paper scale of given least count, e.g., 0.2cm, 0.5 cm.
- To determine mass of a given body using a metre scale by principle of moments.
- To plot a graph for a given set of data, with proper choice of scales and error bars.
- To measure the force of limiting friction for rolling of a roller on a horizontal plane.
- To study the variation in range of a projectile with angle of projection.
- To study dissipation of energy of a simple pendulum by plotting a graph between square of amplitude and time.
- To study the collision of two balls in two dimensions.
Experiments
- To determine Young's modulus of elasticity of the material of a given wire.
- To find the force constant of a helical spring by plotting a graph between load and extension.
- To determine the surface tension of water by capillary rise method.
- To determine the coefficient of viscosity of a given viscous liquid by measuring terminal velocity of a given spherical body.
- To study the speed of sound in air at room temperature using a resonance tube by two resonance position method.
- To study relation between the lenght of a given wire and tension for constant frequency using sonometer.
- To determine specific heat of a given solid and liquid by method of mixtures.
Activities/Project Work
- To observe change of state and plot a cooling curve for molten wax.
- To observe and explain the effect of heating on a bi-metallic strip.
- To study the effect of detergent on surface tension of water by observing capillary rise.
- To study the factors affecting the rate of loss of heat of a liquid.
- To study the effect of nature of surface on emission and absorption of radiation.

Eligibility
Conditions of eligibility for admission to class XI
1. Candidates who have been studying in a School recognised by or affiliated to this Board or any other recognised Board of Secondary Education in India.
2. Candidates can not take admission directly in class XI.
3. Candidates had completed a regular course of study for class X and passed class X examination from a school affilicated to this Board.
4. The candidates percentage for attendance should be 75% so that the Board to make him/her eligible for the Examinations.
5. Candidate can be admitted to a school only on the transfer of the parents(s) or shifting of their families from one place to another, after procuring from the student the marksheet and the Transfer Certificate duly countersigned by the Educational Authorities of the Board concerned.
6. There is no age limit for candidates taking the Examination.
7. Candidate should have doucments in support of his having passed the qualifying or equivalent qualifying examination.

Analysis of 2021 Question Paper
Paper Code - C-1-C
1. There are total 26 questions in this part.
2. This question paper is divided into five sections: Section A, Section B, Section C, Section D and Section E.
3. All sections are compulsory. Solve all the parts of a question together.
4. Section A is based on Very Very Short Answer Type Questions. Total 5 questions is in this section. All question carries 1 marks each.
5. Section B is based on Very Short Answer Type Questions. Total 5 questions is in this section. All question carries 2 marks each.
6. Section C is based on Short Answer Type Questions. Total 12 questions is in this section. All question carries 3 marks each.
7. Section D is based on Value Based Questions. Only one question of 4 Marks is in this section.
8. Section E is based on Long Answer Type Questions. Total 3 questions is in this section. All question carries 5 marks each.
And
There is no overall choice in this paper, yet internal choice is given in all the questions of 5 marks. Out of such questions you have to attempt only one question from the given selection.
