The higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education.
The Admission to BDS is based on National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (UG) (NEET U.G.) Conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Admission in 100% seats of BDS will be done through NEET U.G. in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of MCI/DCI under the Union ministry of health & family welfare Government of India.
The NEET (UG) shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with the single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology). This will be a single exam in pen-and-paper mode. The duration of paper would be 03 hours
A candidate for admission to the Master in Dental Surgery course, must possess a recognized degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery awarded by a university or institute in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/recognized dental college.
And
There shall be a uniform NEET-MDS for admission to the post-graduate dental courses in each academic year conducted in the manner, as prescribed by the National Board of Examination or any other authority appointed by the Central Government in this behalf. The overall superintendence, direction, and control of the NEET-MDS shall vest with the Council.
