Chanakya Community College, the first one in state of Chhattisgarh, is working towards imparting job and skill based programs in the state. Chanakya Community College started under IGNOU community college scheme in 2010 with 12 approved vocational programs; however due to closing down of IGNOU scheme in 2012, Chanakya got approved by AICTE under NTI – Non Technical Institute scheme of AICTE - for three vocational programs but could not get affiliated to CSVTU (Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University), the state technical university due to CSVTU (Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University) not having the provision for affiliation of community colleges. |
