Description
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued a short notification for AFCAT 1 2026, inviting applications from eligible men and women to join as Group A Gazetted Officers in the Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. The exam is conducted for courses beginning in January 2027.
The online registration for AFCAT 1 2026 will start on November 10, 2025, and continue until December 9, 2025. Interested candidates can apply through the official AFCAT portal. Eligibility Criteria
Flying Branch: Age between 20 and 24 years.
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches: Age up to 26 years.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics and hold a graduate degree in the relevant field.
For technical branches, candidates must meet additional engineering qualification requirements as specified in the official guidelines.

Selection Process
The AFCAT 1 2026 recruitment will follow a three-stage selection procedure:
Online Written Examination
Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) Interview
Medical Examination
Candidates who successfully clear all stages will be selected for training at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal, Hyderabad.
