Description

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the UPSC Engineering Services Examination (ESE) Prelims 2026 timetable for Stage 1. Candidates appearing for the ESE Preliminary Examination 2026 can now check the detailed schedule on the official website.

According to the official notice, the UPSC ESE Prelims 2026 will be conducted on February 8, 2026. The examination will take place in two sessions the first session from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and the second session from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Paper I will be held in the morning session, followed by Paper II in the afternoon session.

Exam Pattern And Marks Distribution

The preliminary examination will carry a total of 500 marks, divided into two papers:

• Paper I: General Studies and Engineering Aptitude — 200 marks

• Paper II: Engineering Discipline — 300 marks

Candidates must note that there will be a negative marking for incorrect answers in the objective-type question papers.
