The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced a revised timetable for the CA Intermediate and Final examinations, which were initially set to take place from May 9 to May 14, 2025, but were postponed due to the prevailing security situation in the country. According to the latest official notice, these exams will now be conducted from May 16, 2025, to May 24, 2025. The ICAI has clarified that the rescheduled exams will be held at the originally designated test centres, with the same timing as before from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (IST) for most papers, and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (IST) for certain subjects requiring extended durations.
Admit Card Validity And Test Centres
The ICAI has confirmed that the admit cards already issued for the postponed exams will remain valid for the revised dates. This measure aims to reduce the inconvenience for students and ensure a smooth examination process despite the unexpected rescheduling.
No Changes To CA Foundation Exams
While the Intermediate and Final exams have been shifted, the ICAI has stated that the Chartered Accountants Foundation May 2025 examinations will proceed as originally planned, with papers scheduled on May 15, 17, 19, and 21, 2025. This decision ensures minimal disruption for foundation-level candidates.
Public Holidays And Exam Schedule
The ICAI further clarified that the rescheduled exam dates will not be affected by any public holidays or local holidays declared by the Central Government, State Governments, or local authorities. This means that the revised timetable will be strictly followed, regardless of any official holidays that may coincide with the exam dates.
Impact of Operation Sindoor
The postponement was prompted by the launch of Operation Sindoor, a national security initiative that led to heightened alert levels in several regions. The delayed examinations include the remaining papers for the CA Final, Intermediate, and Post Qualification Course Examinations [International Taxation Assessment Test (INTT AT)], which were initially set to take place from May 9 to May 14, 2025.
