The Gujarat Biotechnology University (GBU) will begin accepting applications for Master of Science (MSc) programmes in the near future. It is India's first postgraduate institution dedicated solely to biotechnology, founded by the Gujarat government's Department of Science and Technology in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom.
Animal biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, medical biotechnology, and plant biotechnology are among the courses offered by the GBU.
Graduate Aptitude Test - Biotechnology (GAT B) scores can be used to apply for several MSc programmes offered by the institute for students interested in pursuing a career in biotechnology.
"Biotechnology has huge potential to play a key role in helping India deal with health emergencies and undertake pioneering research in the healthcare and agriculture sectors," said Ms Amrita Sadarangani, Executive Director, Gujarat Biotechnology University. The purpose of GBU is to place India at the forefront of cutting-edge research and development."
Gujarat Biotechnology University's admissions procedure is led by a holistic approach to help students reach their full potential, according to a statement from the university.
GBU will interview prospective students with a valid GAT B score to learn more about their interests and the values the institution strives to foster, such as teamwork, communication, and creativity, according to the university.
Candidates should also be aware that all eligible students will get a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000.
